Good stay in Edinburgh!

I stayed 10 female dormitory for a night. it was my first stay at domotory guest house, but not bad. Very welcomed staff made me relived. Great location(in the middle of Royal Mile), well organized room, and clean shared bathroom/toilet. They have a seperate lugguage storage besides a room, so it helps me a lot.

제가 다녀본 호스텔 중에 가장 좋았습니다. 깨끗하고 귀마개 같은 것도 일회용으로 제공 하고요. 침대는 캡슐처럼 되어있어서 좋았고 약간 한국 찜질방 온돌 수면방?? 같은 곳 들어간 느낌이에요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 화장실도 깨끗하구여. 위치도 딱 광장 한가운데 있어서 좋았어요 대신 웨이버리역 밑에서 부터 캐리어 끌고 올라가다 죽을뻔 했습니다. 그냥 버스타고 언덕길 가시는거 추천이여..! 진짜 굳!!

벙커 형식이라 남 의식할 필요가 없다는 점이 좋았다. 다만 방이 좁은 편이라 캐리어는 항상 잠가서 세워둬야 했다. 샤워시설과 화장실이 밖에 있어서 정말 좋았다. 그런데 침대에 콘센트가 없어서 급하게 usb 케이블을 사야 했다.

Too noisy at night

The room I stayed was a female-only dormitory on the first floor, but it's too noisy at night because it's the entrance to the building. It was hard to sleep well all night. The facilities are just average level.

We have no female only dorms on the first floor and all our rooms are away from the reception area and entrance in the building but for cases where guests do find the noise level all our rooms are equipped with complimentary ear plugs and sleep masks for an added comfort. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room and property were clean. Biggest downside was the private bathroom in our room had a sizeable gap where the door was supposed to latch, the bathroom door did not latch, and we found the translucent glass for the bathroom to be uncomfortable.

Excellent hostel! First time staying in a hostel at 60 years of age. Great hostel, location right off Royal Mile, safe, quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

I’ve been all over the world I’ve stayed in Airbnb‘s hotels and locals homes but never in a hostel I think this is the Rolls-Royce of hostels. Very cute clean and creative set up safe and easy to find . However if you are claustrophobic the pod might be hard for you to get comfortable it can be hard to relax here if you’ve had a long trip lots of people in and out as my 10 person female only dormitory so if you are looking for a relaxing peaceful respite this is not the place lol but if you’re looking for affordable safe fun adventure book immediately . Also absolutely no parking available the closest parking is about a mile away and 45$ a night

Très bon séjour, les pods sont très confortables, l'équipe est très disponible et sympathique, je me suis sentie très en sécurité dans cette auberge. Le seule point négatif est le bruit du déverrouillage de la porte dans le dortoir qui fait beaucoup de bruit, mais des bouchons d'oreille sont disponible à la réception. La cuisine partagée est assez petite mais très fonctionnelle. Les sanitaires ont une propreté variable, tout dépend des autre voyageurs mais l'équipe fait tout son possible pour rendre le lieu propre.

Sehr ruhig und sicher, pefekt gelegen, sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter. Endlich ein Hostel mit genug Haken! Frühstück gut und für schottische Verhältnisse günstig. Durch die mit Vorhängen versehenen Pods viel Privatspäre im Bett. Gut ausgestattete und saubere Küche zur Selbstnutzung.

The whole town knows it as the pod, a unique Japanese invention I believe. The sleeping cubicle is so comfortable but requires a small adjustment to the usual accommodation. The lobby is a friendly breakfast spot as well as a bar and staff is marvelous. Big area to cook in and an Italian family (doctors) fed me a pasta dinner they had prepared. Simply wonderful.

It’s centrally located so places are closeby. The staff are friendly. A minor issue was that the men’s toilets/bathrooms were in repairs on my floor so we were asked to use the facilities downstairs.

This is the second time I live here. This time my room is next to an alley that you can hear people talking outside. It is a bit noisy compare to my first stay. The good side is the room and bathroom are still clean. A nice place to stay with a resonable price.

The location is perfect, it is in the city centre. Room and washroom are clear. Shower water is hot enough. Pillow is too soft for me. Remember to bring your own towel.

Super zentrale Lage, nettes hilfsbereites Personal, Privatssphäre durch die Pods gegeben, Sauberkeit, Ruhe und Rücksichtnahme der Gäste im 'Courtroom' - ich habe dort besser geschlafen als in so manchem privatem Hotelzimmer.

overall very good for the value, very comfy bed, enough space to sit or lie down or even change clothes. people in the hostel respect the house rules. much better if there are more toilets or urinals

The cleanness and location was perfect. The building is so old and traditional but well-renovated. One point we can say about the facility is that the air conditioning was not so good. We felt a little bit cold. Another one which can be improved is the laundry. The sign says we can use that until 9pm and we go to the reception where it is( there is not exact sign of the location) at 8:20. They told us we can’t do that because it closes at 9pm, means, we should have be done the laundry by 9pm. The sentence something like m, “The laundry should be done by 9pm. So normally you should start by 8pm”, should be added.

This was my first experience staying in a hostel - and it was a really good one! Code is located in such a convenient place, everything from train station to castle is under a ten min walk. The toilets and showers are amazing! Best shower I’ve had in a while. The pods are well kept and comfortable, most other guests are polite and respectful of noise. I would highly recommend wearing ear plugs to reduce the noise of snorers or people coming in and out. - they’re free from the front desk! Only downside to pods are two things - 1. It gets very hot in the pods over night. I struggled with this in march so can only imagine how hot it gets in the summer months (although you can get a fan from reception) 2. Climbing up and into the top pods is difficult. If you’re not strong enough to pull yourself up, I’d recommend requesting a bottom pod. Only bits of feedback I have; It would be really nice to get some sofas in the reception area to make it more cosy. I found that the communal areas were great - just not very inviting. The benches aren’t very comfortable. if I wanted somewhere to hang out and socialise, I went to coffee shops near by for that feel. Another thing I feel is missing is a changing area - if showers and toilets are busy, it’s difficult to find a space to get changed, unless you want to clamber about in your pod. But overall I loved the pods, great value for money, great location and I recommend!
