"The staff in this hotel are extremely nice and very helpful. Lovely, high-ceilinged and spotlessly clean bedroom with a balcony in a characterful building in downtown Cairo. The location is very convenient, being only a ten-minute walk from the Museum of Antiquities and on a street with easy access for taxis or tour pick-ups. I'm happy to recommend this very reasonably-priced and welcoming hotel to other travellers."

"Affordable stay
The price is great and the location couldn’t be better. Still, travellers should note that the hotel is quite basic — the furniture is old, Wi-Fi is also inconsistent. If you value price and location more than comfort, this might work for you."

"We had a great stay at Hathor House! The location is very central, rooms are big and equipped with everything we needed, the staff are super friendly and helpful. We were not bothered by the noise outside, and we enjoyed the more authentic experience of staying in an old historic building. I would happily stay here again. "

"The Hotel is situated in a newly renovated apartment, so extremely clean with new beds, bedding and spotless bathroom with a great shower. The fabulous breakfast was served in bed
The only problem is that there’s no proper window, as it’s closed shut"

"The hostel, the staff and the breakfast they provide is all great!
What’s let it down is the tour I booked with them to the pyramids. Firstly I was booked onto a tour to see multiple pyramids when in fact I’d just wanted to see the Giza pyramids and sphinx, maybe there had been some miscommunication.
Firstly on the Giza pyramids part of the tour I was unexpectedly taken to a dodgy looking guide centre outside of the Giza site and pressured to pay "

"I stay in hotels at least 100 days a year. I know quickly if a hotel is one I will return to. This is one and I have returned to it for a second Cairo trip this year. The staff is fantastic and does not pressure you to take any tours with them.
Everything is great. The area is safe and very close to Midan Talaat Harb but not on it (thankfully). It is quiet, there is an easy walk from the street. "
"The hotel was very clean. The staff are friendly and helpful
I emailed Concierge desk prior to our visit. Sabry communicated w me via email and we arranged a guided tour of the pyramids. Heba was our guide. She was great. She spoke English fluently and was very knowledgeable. She arranged to the tour to met our needs. I would highly recommend Heba. The tour was $$$ but very convenient and comfortable. The Concierge representatives were all pleasant and helpful at all hours of the day and night. The Hotel representatives at the front entrance were very welcoming and helpful especially with locating uber drivers. Sayed Sayed from Housekeeping was very friendly and accomodating. Ibrahim from Housekeeping cleaned and maintained our beautiful room. This hotel is truly a haven in a very busy crowded Cairo. I would recommend a Nile view room from a high floor. We were on the 9th floor; the view was amazing. "
"Service was great. Breakfast was a terrific buffet. Staff took good care of us. The room was clean. some stuff needed repair, and something really confused me. I asked to extend my stay, and the front desk person told me they were sold out. I went up to my room and booked it on Expedia, and came back downstairs and the very same person extended my stay....... very odd."
"This place was an incredible find. Within walking distance of the Taj Mahal and easy access to Tuk Tuk’s and drivers. The staff was incredibly gracious and accommodating allowing us to lounge on the rooftop terrace before and after our stay while waiting for our train. The food was great and I highly recommend the home cooked dinner with guests. Great food and great conversation with people from around the world. We will definitely be staying here next time we happen in Agra."
"Sama hotel was a great place to stay!! Especially for the price. We were a bit concerned when we entered the building as going up the stairs seemed a bit sketchy but the floor the hotel is on is great! They have their own elevator too which made it convenient for avoiding the stairs. The room was clean and spacious, balcony was nice. The noise wasn’t too bad with the AC going considering the locals do not sleep lol. The breakfast was great and came super quick once requested. If we needed anything the front desk was quick to provide. It was conveniently located to shops and local restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed the friendly staff there!! Only thing with the room was the shower didn’t have full glass across it so the water would spray all over the bathroom floor. "
"We were lucky enough to stay at this amazing location during our 3 days in Cairo. We checked in and immediately felt welcome by Marcelino at the front desk who went above and beyond (helped us navigate the taxis, gave us recommendations of what to do in the city, offered to help us with day to day planning and booking, and so much more) to make sure we enjoyed our experience. The room was incredible, the staff were outstanding and overall there wasn’t anything more we could have asked for. I highly recommend this location and again want to thank Marcelino for being so amazing while we were there!"
