While hiking to the top of Whiteface Mountain, it takes about 3,5 hours at a regular pace from the very bottom.
The road to #BoreasPonds has just recently been opened to foot traffic after the 22,000 acre tract of land was purchased by NYS. The walk in is fairly boring and can be grueling on a hot, buggy day, but the view of the ponds is spectacular. Now let's hope Gov. Cuomo designates this area as Wilderness #Adirondacks
After a chairlift and elevator to the top of the ski jump, a beautiful view!!!!

Summer road trip 🚗 to Lake Placid, a quaint village in the Adirondacks region (which hosted the 1980 Winter Olympics) ⛷. In town for just a weekend, we decided to do the shortest and easiest hike in Adirondack and that was Cascade Mountain. ⛰ At an elevation of around 4000 ft., it offers great views of Lake Placid for a casual hiker. 👟👟 Trip highlight: 🌌Stargazing near a surreal mist covered pond in Tupper Lake area, with wolves 🐺 howling nearby. (I wish I had captured a video but as luck would have it, since it was an impromptu activity, we didn't have the right equipment. Then again, maybe it's best left for another visit to this cozy town 😊) #Adirondacks #NY #takeahike
