“The public areas were a bit dark and gloomy. The bedroom was hot and stuffy even with the windows open. Some furniture was quite old fashioned but the bed was comfortable enough. The food was OK but lacked better wine choices. The breakfast was a bit too greasy. Staff were friendly and helpful.”

“Staff were excellent. Food was very good. Central location. Spacious room with fridge. All rooms in the hotel are up some stairs. No lift.”

“Great hotel, friendly staff”

“schönes Ambiente, nettes Personal, das Zimmer war recht groß. Frühstück war sehr gut und reichlich.”

“Room was nice, bed was comfortable, breakfast had good selection. We brought our x2 dogs and as with a lot of other stays we’ve done felt a bit short changed with the £30 per dog fee. Would recommend having a fridge in a dog friendly room as some dog food needs kept in a fridge. Otherwise had a nice stay and would likely stay again.”

“Very helpful chap checked me in, nice room, nice bathroom etc”

“Great location but very noisy in our front room at the weekend with revellers coming out other pubs. Staff all really helpful and can't do enough for you. Plenty choice at breakfast”

“Staff were very friendly and helpful, great to have a chat with about the area. Accommodation was exactly what we needed and a good choice of dinner options.”

“Convenient location bang in the middle of Selkirk. Hotel has a nice bar and restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. Breakfast very good but, at £35 a head, very expensive.”

“Very helpful staff. Good food. Excellent location.”

“We were happy enough with our room at St Ronans Hotel and we were grateful for the host's recommendation that we should go to The Traquair Arms Hotel for our evening meal.”

“This was a great location for me to visit Galashiels. Its a lovely old manse building with nice clean big rooms and comfy beds. The owners of the guest house were on site, very friendly and welcoming. I had a sound night's sleep and woke to a lovely cooked breakfast with all the trimmings. I couldn't fault my stay. There is plenty parking but lots of free street parking nearby anyway so no issues there. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.”
