The best choice I made for my trip was this hotel!!! Besides being all themed, which is cool to get into Texas vibes, is so so so clean and well located. The staff was extremely helpful every time I needed. Just keep in mind it's a motel, don't go with hotels expectations. But definitely it's a hidden gem. As a solo traveler I felt safe and comfortable.

Arrived after a very long drive from Springfield Missouri to be greeted by Michael who, on checking our details, told us that we hadn't paid enough and that Expedia "kept getting tariffs wrong and customers were unpaying". We were asked to pay another $20 before being given the keys to the room (cash receipt given to us). We tried unsuccessfully to enter the room but the door wouldn't open. Michael appeared and tried the door only to discover that there was already someone occupying the room. Michael promptly returned with keys to another room which was unoccupied to our relief but made us a little nervous about it happening to us. The room appeared to be clean and in good repair. The beds were comfortable, the air-conditioning, fridge and bath/shower were in good working order. Our only regret was a lack of microwave, and more importantly, a tea/coffee maker. Us Brits were missing making our national brew! Also, no matter how we tried, we were not able to run any cold water from either tap. At least we could get ice from the office. The swimming pool looked lovely but we didn't have time to use it unfortunately. Parking was easy with plenty of space. We missed the turning to get into the site and had to do a U turn - rather a convoluted route to get there. Our intended walk to the Stockyards was compromised by roadworks so we caught an Orange line bus from the north station which was $4 for a day's ticket. Location was convenient for our intended visit to Fort Worth.

Old School Motel

Great roadside motel within easy reach of restaurant/bars Stockyards area, fuel, coin op laundry. Really enjoyed the Western theme refurb, handmade timber pieces, wall murals. Rooms clean and comfortable, easy parking just off highway, noise ok with us.

Good hotel with a fun Texas/ western theme, good sized room with a big bed and sitting area too. Near the highway but you know that when you book it, and just 10 minutes from the stockyards.
