“We decided to stay here for a couple nights for the Duluth Airshow as it was nearby. It was wonderful. Staff was attentive and respectful. The room was clean and ac was working well. The beds were comfy and two types of pillows were offered (firm and soft). The only con is that the walls were a bit thin and could easily here people above us stomping around. “NO towels in the pool area. Went & asked at front desk & he said he would bring some right over. After a 1/2 hr of swimming, still NO towels. Finally walked back to our room dripping wet. Also it has a sign to shower before entering the pool. Hard to do when there is NO handle to turn the water ON. Breakfast seemed well stocked, but nobody was cleaning tables.”

“Realizing that the hotel was 100 plus years old, the lobby was quite nice, check in was fine. We got up to the room and it was clean for the most part. We checked the bed for bugs and didn't find any, AC was very cold, bathroom could have been a bit cleaner but was ok. What we were dissatisfied with was in order to open close the bathroom door you had to straddle the toilet in order to do so. “The price of our room was the biggest disappointment. If I pay 300.00 I expect an updated bathroom and comfortable beds. Also, there were ants in our room, in one of the beds and on the desk top. When we checked in somehow they showed our reservation was cancelled, but I had my printout of the Expedia reservation and they found a room for us. The staff was friendly. They need to remodel everything in the room and the bathroom vent didn't keep the moisture away. We felt like we couldn't wait...

“We have stayed here twice now. Not too crowded. The scrambled eggs actually taste good. There is an additional sink outside of the bathroom, which is great for when you need to get ready while the bathroom is tied up. Pillow lovers will appreciate that there are 4 pillows for each queen bed.”

“The pool and hot tub were closed, the only reasons we booked at this hotel. Our room was filthy, and the front desk worker was less than friendly. We had stayed her several times in the past, but it is no longer maintained like it used to be. It was a throughly dispointing stay.”

“This was a beautiful stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was quite comfortable. Never had a chance to check out the lounge. Breakfast was a bit sparse, but it was at least offered. Only downside was that we were not aware that daily housekeeping was not offered. I suppose we were supposed to ask for it. We ended up leaving early for reasons unrelated to the facility, so we never did inquire about the housekeeping schedule.”
