“We had a wonderful stay at Hitgeheim Country Lodge. The road in is a little rough, but as it is an eco reserve, that is to be expected and part of the experience. The reward is the wildlife along the way, and we were lucky enough to encounter some zebras. We chose a room with a private pool, which was absolutely beautiful and made our stay feel extra special. We loved the port provided and enjoyed a delicious Taste of South Africa dinner in the restaurant. A lovely final touch was having our car...

“Just a quick overnight and early departure for us. Host was lovely and very prompt with communication and driving guidance.”

“The lodge was nice but it was in the middle of nowhere! We also felt we were ‘fleeced’ for our trip to Addo. Our friends were charged half what we were charged for their exact same game drive. We were taken from the lodge on a very uncomfortable 1.5hr drive in an old truck that did not even have air conditioning. ”

Sie ist unglaublich fürsorglich und immer mit Antworten und Infos zur Stelle Als Ausgangspunkt für den Addo NP ist es perfekt. 7 Autominuten zum South Gate. Das Zimmer wirkt eher dunkel und die Unterkunft ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Leider hatten wir das kleine Appartement Richtung Strasse und konnten aufgrund des LKW Verkehrs sehr schlecht schlafen.”

“Whlle the staff did help and went oout of their way to help us celebrate a special occasion, we were disappointed that it could have been a more of an "African" experience - especially with the dining. We were anticipating that there would have been a lot more of the South African taste in the menus. Unfortunately, the schedule at the camp was so tight, there was not enough down time to actually enjoy the camp itself. It was also disappointing to be presented with a blll with unknown/ hidden...

“Truly, a five star experience that went above and beyond expectations because of Ranger John! He is an expert level two ranger; has deep knowledge of the nature and history of the land is completely unparalleled! There are many times where he was able to see animals that no one else could see because of his 40 years of experience in the bush. On one of the game drives, he smelled a carcass, and we went to explore the carcass and subsequently which led us to who hidden lions that were finished...

“(+) Positiv - netter Empfang der Dame zu Beginn - gute Parkplätze, eigene Fernbedienung für das Tor - gepflegter kleiner Pool - geräumiges Zimmer (-) Negativ - trotz dreimaliger Kontaktaufnahme vorab bzgl. unserer Essensvorstellungen (aus Allergiegründen vegane Ernährung erforderlich) und erneuter Thematisierung bei Ankunft wurden wir zu einem Buffet geführt, an dem es nahezu ausschließlich Fleisch und Milchprodukte gab. Aus Verlegenheit wurde uns mit Brühe versalzenes Gemüse als Alternative...

“Wir haben die Unterkunft gebucht, da sie laut Beschreibung schallgedämmte Zimmer und eine Klimaanlage haben sollte. Leider waren die Nachbarn extrem laut und die Klimaanlage fehlte! Aber wo soll man sich beschweren? Kaum hat man gezahlt, ist man ausgeliefert. Funktioniert über AirBNB besser.”

“Schönes und sauberes Zimmer (wir hatten Standard Zimmer gebucht) und sehr schöne Anlage, sehr netter Empfang, reichhaltiges, gutes Frühstück, sehr gute Parkmöglichkeiten. Das Dinner (beide Auswahlen) war für unsern Geschmack nicht so gut. ”
