This was my second stay at Motel 8 in Maricopa, and I appreciated it as much as on my first visit. The owners are hospitable and welcoming, and the housekeeping staff are friendly.
My request to stay in the same room again would have been honored except for there being an issue with the water heater in that building, which they were working to resolve. I was given another equally spacious and comfortable ground-floor room.😎
The singles here are so big they feel like a studio apartment, with a very comfortable King-size bed plus a small cushy sofa. (And very well sound-insulted, especially for an older property - NICE, for a peaceful good night's sleep!)
Fridge/microwave, large countertop sink area + separate room
for shower/tub and toilette. Plenty of drawers and clothes-hanging space, a sizable desk
With a cranking A/C unit❄ to keep the room cool❄ - an ABSOLUTE necessity in toasty Central CA. And also, the swimming pool is sparkly clean and refreshingly cool in the dry summer heat. Their palm-lined parking lot is clean and well-maintained.
(No, they're not paying me to write this... the place is a score! All around, WAY above SO many "budget" motels, and I have traveled the US and California extensively.)
Biggest drawback is the possibility of lodging there at a time when perhaps other guests of the "8" don't have the good sense to behave like respectful adults... but THAT can happen anywhere!💙
Motel 8 Maricopa - on the whole... an enthusiastic 2 thumbs up!!
