Property was not in good condition. Hot water did not reach the 7th floor. There was a weird smell in both rooms that I had booked. Information about the property was misleading regarding breakfast and parking. When asked about the breakfast, which was listed as available, I was informed that it is not included. The front desk staff advised me that they will ask the manager about providing breakfast to us. He got back to me and advised me that as per the manager the adjoining restaurant was booked for a private event. The next day I found out that it was a blatant lie and there was no such booking at that restaurant. Upon being advised of the hot water situation, the front desk staff told me that the hot water takes a few minutes to get to the 7th floor. But even after running the shower for 10 minutes there was no hot water and I had to take a shower with cold water. I spoke to the manager about these situations and she had nothing to say and there was not even an attempt to make anything better. She was quit nonchalant and her answer was ok. It was a terrible stay and very embarrassing for me in front of my family who were visiting from out of town. Overall a terrible terrible experience. Would not ever recommend this to anyone.

Walkable location to parliament and Rideau Centre (15min) and good dining options. Front desk was efficient and professional. No pool but we had a full schedule so we didn’t mind.

It was an okay stay. Hotel was in a good location and the staff was great. The downside was our rooms thermostat didn’t work so our room was super hot. We were brought a couple of fans within 15 minutes which was great but they only helped so much. Our only other gripe was the shower. It was either scolding hot or luke warm and I’ll assume the knob was loose or something. Overall, not a bad stay. Can’t say we won’t be back but I can’t say we will

This is my third time staying at the Embassy Suites. It’s in a great location and close to everything. I love the size of the rooms, too, and having a little kitchenette is really convenient.

WE quite appreciated the dog treat presentation. The suites are spacious and the location is treemendous! Except for a few loud guests at 2 and 4 in the a.m. we had a great stay and would use the facility on our next visit. Thanks again! Tom & Diane & Rupert!

This property has a full kitchen in the unit. We we were able to heat up some food and avoid going out with the kids. The city hall is very close and we opted to park there, since it is very cheap. There are a lot of nice restaurants in the area and close to the theater.

The entire hotel itself was really great except for the restaurant food. I order a nacho platter and the chips was stale and gross tasting. Then we ordered the chicken Caesar salad and it was dry and very gross. So we truly think the food needs to be changed and once it gets better then this place will be much better!! The next morning we decided to go try breakfast there at Coopers and not only did the server not bother to bring us menus they expected us to just order which we just ordered a breakfast meal and the bacon was rock hard that I chipped my tooth trying to bite into it and the eggs were dried with no yolk and the only b Good thing was the toast!! Thank god Zaks was up the street!! The Hirel itself was great but I would never recommend my worst enemy to eat at Coopers kitchen ever!!

Love the location. Park at city hall to save yourself a few bucks. Bring drinks and snack with you there is a pop machine but it ate my $$. Front desk staff is amazing.

Spot was very conveniently located, room was clean. Unfortunately there is not much parking so you will need to put your car on the street. Other than that we had time at the hotel :)

Great customer service with fantastic location. Very clean rooms with comfortable beds. The on-site restaurant has a great selection with reasonable prices and excellent service. Bonus is the gym has a peloton!!!!

Look for other options, despite friendly staff
The way this hotel is portrayed is not how it actually is. The front desk staff were very friendly and nice. The hotel and rooms are so dated, dark, and I'm not sure the carpets are cleaned. My main issue is that there was no hot water -- I found this out at 5:30 am when I woke to take my shower (I didn't notice washing my hands in the sink the evening before because I didn't use hot water those times). I could not adjust the temperature in the unit -- I could turn a fan on or off but the air coming out was a single, too warm temperature. At least the bed was comfortable. I was 'upgraded' to a suite on check in so I can't imagine what the regular rooms are like. The kitchen area in the suite is on carpet near the bed. Ultimately, people book in hotels and expect 2 things at minimum 1. a place to sleep and 2. the ability to shower/clean. I was not able to do the 2nd, and for that I should be given at least a 50% refund on my rate (not a credit to use there again -- I hope I never have to go back). It's probably the most unpleasant hotel I have stayed at in the last 4 years, and I travel a lot.

I have stayed at this hotel 4 times this year and previously had always rated it 5 stars. This time however was the first time I had stayed there in the winter and was very disappointed with the fact that we cannot control the temperature in our room. Our room was so hot and when I went to the front desk to inquire about how to fix it I was told that the temperature is controlled for the whole building and if we are hot the recommendation was to open the balcony door to let in cold air. This was December 26th. There has to be a better way to cool down the rooms. Keeping the balcony door open all night in the winter should not be the only choice. It was by far the worst night’s sleep I have had at any hotel.
