The hotel and room were fine, but mine was facing a very loud street. 6am in the morning it was packed with buses honking and driving really fast. I asked for a quieter room, but all were busy...

Good budget room
The area looked a bit dodgy, but was a quick walk to castillo, getsemini and about 20 minutes to old town proper. We walked to and from Getsemini for dinner each night no problem. Mattress very comfy but pillows could have been better. Bit of noise from the street. WiFi in foyer area but didn't quite make it to the room
Nice and cheap hotel next to the St.Felipe castle and it takes 10 minutes to walk to the old town. The staff behaind the desk were ignorant and kept the tv very loud even during the night. The cleaning lady was thoug very nice.
The room was big and the shower and bed were also good. Poor windows that let all the noice form the street to come in (and there is very loud traffic).
Unbedingt empfehlenswert.
Bed broke after 1st night of being intimate, tv didnt work the 1st night, and no towels

Espacio y mentiras
Lovely place to stay, super close to the Castillo and near both the walled city of Cartagena and a great mall (5-10 min). We recovered here after catching ill in another hotel, and the comfortable bed, bathroom, and air conditioning were very welcome.
Nice budget hotel for a couple of nights in Cartag
If you want to be really close to town without paying the price this is your place. Price is very good for what you get and it's walking distance from the castle and the walls.
The police station is right in front of the hotel, so even though the surroundings look a bit dodgy, you will be totally fine.
I would stay here again
The first impression was meeting the unpaid, uninvited guest... a 2 inch (5 cm) roach in the bathroom. I guess he didn't like me either, because I never saw him again.
The beds were a mattress (not sure what filled the mattress) on slats (no box spring). There was a huge depression in the middle.
The air conditioning was the best part of the room, but it was not meant to cool the bathroom, since there was an uncloseable vent window that vented to the lobby.
The locks need work. One time my key would not turn. Another time the key would not come out of the lock.
There was no hot water, but the cold water was very warm (not warm enough to call it warm).

I hate to write bad reviews, but this stay was one of the worst in over 6 months in South America! If we only had to pay 20 dollars a night, I would probably just have thought that you get what you pay for, but the fact that they dare to charge 66 dollars for such a terrible place is beyond me!! The room was uncomfortable, smelled badly, the bed was old and in very bad shape, the bathroom had a big open hole in the wall through which mosquitoes could enter (not ideal given that there is currently a huge breakout of Chikungunya, Zika and Dengue), there was no hot water and the worst was the noise!! It was like we were on the street! There is a lot of traffic on the street next to the hotel and we heard everything. We were woken up everyday at 6am because of all the honking. The surroundings of the hotel are not nice either, with lots of garbage and puddles of smelly stagnant water. The hotel staff are not particularly friendly either (especially the lady who was there on our first night was very unfriendly!!). I would never recommend this place!
Somos Mochileros.
Empleado 5 estrellas! Un nuevo amigo!
