Had to wait over an hour past posted check in time. Was told some story about the AC, but, seems it was housekeeping as the floors were wet when we finally checked in. Room was run down..biggest issue was that neither of the two showers drained properly. In fact, sewage came up and created an offensive odor. This was reported to the front desk and repairs were attempted, but not done properly. So, the room still smelled BAD. Also, the workman left a BIG mess. I had to go to the front desk to ask to have it cleaned. While the manager was interested in our stay, all he did was provide a late day fruit plate! No thanks. Avoid this place. It is over priced for what you get. One of my worst stays ever.

Had an amazing stay with super friendly staff who were really helpful with recommendations for things to do around Unawatuna and a very generous driver who was able to take us around Galle during our short stay here. The breakfast was delicious with a large variety of foods from authentic Sri Lankan cuisine to western dishes as well. 10/10 reccommend :)

Didn’t live up to expectations
Overall disappointing, I’d say this is more 2 star, 3 at a push! Room initially had a blocked toilet, no bath or hand towels in the bathroom, 3 hangers for 2 people, warm bar on roof top bar, room condition was pretty warn, needs a good refurb, felt a bit grubby compared to other hotels we stayed in during our trip to Sri Lanka. Manager was good and helped where we needed.

Probably the best hotel in unawatuna. 2 pools, one of them sea water pool was amazing. Views of ocean and waves crashing is break taking. Staff goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is enjoyable.

Our stay was just as the coronavirus was breaking out. We had to return to the UK after 1 day at the hotel. I would like to praise Roshan and his team for the very efficient and friendly assistance and understanding of our specific situation during a very challenging time. We hope to return!!

Found this resort after having to move out of a complete disaster (Jungle Village by Thawthisa), what a pleasant surprise! Has the combination of being at the end of Unawatuna Beach, so feels and looks like it is out on its own, but within easy walking distance of all the beach amenities. Room with a great sea & sunset view. Two beautiful pools & great breakfast, a lovely stay overall.

Excellent stay
Hotel located at a very good location , however the road to the hotel is very narrow and a lot of traffic. Our overall stay was excellent and the ocean front rooms were great . Great food and overall experience .

Dejligt hotel - mørkt værelse
Fint hotel - der dog ikke lever helt op til 5 stjerner. Vi bookede en suite med to soveværelser, men ville gerne have været informerede om at der ikke var udsigt og stort set ingen vinduer. Rummet i sig selv var fint - stort i to etager med dejlige senge og fine møbler. Restauranten er ok og servicen er helt i top. Du kan ikke bade i havet foran pga. klipper, men hotellet tilbyder en gratis shuttle til stranden. De to pools er fine og baren på 3. sal har en fantastisk udsigt. Så alt i alt et fint ophold. Ville dog aldrig vælge det samme værelse igen - det bliver for indelukket.

Spectacular setting next to the sea. Very good food and service. Great pools and a very nice sports bar with an excellent pool table. Very gracious and helpful staff who went out of their way for us. Highly recommended!

Nice property right by the beach in a secluded area. Everything is pretty clean and we were attended to all the time. The room was spacious and a baby cot was ready for us as per our request. It's an excellent product and the rate, though a bit expensive for Sri Lanka's cost of life, is in line with the services and amenities. It's not a big hotel chain of course but the staff are friendly, courteous and genuinely happy. There are a few things to improve here and there but these are minor points. Highly recommandable.

Mi dispiace per il commento scomodo, tuttavia se ci hai fatto sapere durante il vostro soggiorno saremmo stati più felici di rendere il vostro soggiorno più confortevole. Crediamo che una grande esperienza provenga da piccole cose avvenute in modo coerente. Una di queste cose è ascoltare e rispondere prontamente a qualsiasi richiesta. L'hotel si trova a 10 minuti a piedi dalla spiaggia principale e l'hotel è situato nella zona più tranquilla della spiaggia, sì come mostrato nelle foto non è possibile nuotare di fronte all'hotel, ma abbiamo due piscine e una spiaggia privata che è la il posto più bello in unawtauna. Spero di rivederti un giorno!

Really friendly staff, good pools and large rooms
We were very happy with our stay. The personnel was always smiling ready to help in any way possible. We lived in the older part of the hotel. A lot af space and nice room, very good beds, but one could se that there had been water damage to the walls and door to the spa through the years. The pools were very clean and there was always a sun bed awailable. The food was good but not outstanding.

Close to the beach and centre, nice pool. Family room was a good arrangement with an upstairs area with separate bathrooms, just a shame the rooms smelt of sewage and the bathroom was unclean.

First of all, we booked because this was a deal room, it's not clear with your booking that deal rooms are actually inferior to the normal rooms not in deals. We didn't have a good view, neither did we have card or electronic access.

We have not mentioned anywhere that Thaproban Pavilion Resort and Spa has electronic access or card access to open our doors, Only in our new wing we have this option. Thaproban Pavilion Waves which is the new wing has this option.

Great hotel for families!
Really lovely hotel. Great service, every member of staff greets you as you pass and will try to do everything they can to make your stay even better. They are continuing to do improvements but you would not notice the people at work. Food is very good, slightly more expensive than the town prices but still very good. Very family friendly hotel, we would definitely recommend and we would stay here again. There one salt water pool and another chlorine pool, great views over the ocean, a sports bar and gym. Great value for money

Would definitely go back
Very friendly and helpful staff made our stay all the more pleasurable at this hotel. Our stay was just before the season got going so it was fairly quiet but there was plenty to see and do in the area.

Beautiful resort
We had a great time staying at this resort. Overall we loved the spaciousness of the duplex room with two very big rooms, sitting areas and bathroom. The lobby of the hotel is beautiful and very stylish. The food at the restaurant was very good and breakfast was also good. Service could have been sometimes a bit faster and the hot water in our room didn’t work the first 2 days but they sorted it out straight away. The pool areas are very nice although one of them was closed for refurbishment and an event and the one with the eternity pool has limited number of sun lounger so and they are very close to the edge of the pool leaving very little space to walk through. The reception staff were very friendly and they let us check out a bit later for a small fee.Overall we had an amazing stay.

A great, traditional, hotel with a modern feel. The restaurant and pools were both first class and the staff made us feel so welcome. They were friendly and always had time for a chat/conversation. Not on the actual beach at Unawatuna but only a 10 minute walk from it.

Dear Nigel, Thank you for your review, we are so pleased to hear that you had a good time at our place, We are not on the main beach however we are in the heart of Unawatuna, more privacy and quiet area with our private beach and two swimming pools. We do hope you will return one day.
