We found the Plazuela Real to be a no-nonsense budget hotel, with friendly and efficient staff, a few minutes from the bus terminal by taxi. There is an open-roofed restaurant on the 8th floor, with good views of this undistinguished part of town. Lunch was edible. Breakfast was better. They were hosting a wedding party on the night we stayed, which made the restaurant rather a no-go area in the evening. The pool is not much more than a paddling pool. The lift was terrible (they even had a notice suggesting you use the stairs instead, as this is a healthier option). Our standard double room was reasonably clean, and came with an en-suite jacuzzi. Wi-fi and shower were excellent. Lots of noise from the street this Saturday night. Despite its shortcomings, recommended if you are only staying one night and want to get on the road early in the morning.
