The proximity to the downtown festival was great, and the staff member at check-out are the only positive points in this stay.
When I arrived, it was late and there were only a few parking places. I was told that I could park at the fast-food place next door.
The fire department should be made aware that the door on the third floor by the elevator does not close. If there was a fire, the door is supposed to be closed and allow people to go down the stairs to escape. That door had been kicked and would not close at all, with about a foot open so that smoke and toxic fumes could overtake people in the stair well. Upon entrance into the room, the window was unlocked, and the screen was badly twisted and broken. It looked as if someone had tried to go in or out of the window (on the 3rd floor!).
The paint in the public areas was peeling, the breakfast consisted of horrible coffee, a couple of yogurt containers, some fruit in a bowl and a waffle maker. The ice machine on the 3rd floor was missing, and the only other one was on the 1st floor, and not working. When I asked at the front desk, I was told to go next door to the fast-food place and ask them for ice.
Overall, the place looked like it had been used as a frat house with damaged and marred furniture. The carpet in the hallways had massive areas of bleach stain where it appeared that the cleaning staff had spilled bleach in several areas. This place was horrible.
