Nice lady. It was fine but the dogs that live there bark at who knows what and it is startling when you are trying to relax and sleep. It’s not fancy. She rents bikes for $5.

Rain forest gem
We had a wonderful stay with great hosts. We woke up every morning to the howling monkeys. The place is peaceful, off from the quite busy main road. A path is leading to the beautiful, beach on walking distance.

Amazing Spiritual Retreat
Amazing family owned property. Super kind, very friendly and down to earth. The staff is lovely as well. It was a perfect introduction to Costa Rica and Casa Moabi is a very spiritual place. Thank you Shendi and Family. See you in a couple of weeks again!

Overall pretty disappointing for as expensive as it is. The food is also pretty expensive and not good quality.

We are sorry you were unhappy with your stay . As for the price of your stay you have to understand that you came during the peak Christmas season and you also booked one of our more expensive rooms which is really for a family of four with it's own kitchen and living area . As for the food .... the $5 breakfast is expensive ? So for a bottomless coffee , juice , pancakes , eggs , bacon , toast and french toast for the price of $5 is expensive , or are you talking about food in the area ? If so we have no control on the cost of that and putting that in our hotel review is kind of unfair don't you think ?

This place has amazing energy and is so beautiful and relaxing that you instantly meld with the rhythm of the jungle. Best sleep for months. They recommended an amazing masseuse/acupuncturist and fabulous local cuisines.

The pictures don't indicate that there are no walls or windows. It is completely open and beds are separated by curtains. This is the three-story bungalow. So if you are willing to risk it all, bugs, birds, cats, and rain make sure you have walls.

Unglaublich schöne und familiäre Unterkunft
Eine sehr Familiäre Atmosphäre unglaublich schöne Unterkunft. Diese Unterkunft ist wunderschön in die Natur eingebunden man kann hier sehr gut die vielfältige Vegetaion Costa Ricas bestaunen. Das Meer ist 5 Gehminuten entfernt. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und behandelte uns wie ein Familienmitglied... man fühlt sich sehr gut aufgehoben und liebevoll behandelt. Wir lieben diese Unterkunft! Das war die Beste Unterkunft auf meiner bisherigen Reise!!!!

Very disappointed by Casa Moabi, especially after all of the great reviews.The main "house" area where there are about 4 rooms including the one we stayed in, were run down looking. There is AC but it only works when you literally lock all of the windows shut, making it feel like a jail cell with no natural light whatsoever. The bathroom had a toilet disinfectant cake, which made both the bathroom and bedroom area smell horrid (even if you closed the bathroom door). The bed was ok, but not that comfortable. Breakfast was fine but you will be charged $5 a person. The area is pretty and cool that you can hear howler monkeys at night, but know you need a car to get anywhere like restaurants. There are plenty of other nice places in Puerto Viejo or Cocles that are the same price and nicer, I recommend skipping Casa Moabi in favor of those!

A perfect jungle retreat.
A cute little hotel in the middle of the jungle, run by an extremely friendly multi-lingual staff. It's definitely off the path a bit, which can be worrisome at first. But as you pull up it's a quick realization that this place is exactly what you are looking for. Checkin was quick and painless, and the other travellers lounging in the common area made for a very welcoming experience. Our room was spartan, but tidy. Do note, that you are in the middle of the jungle. Bugs will find your way into the room. We had to close our windows to utilize our laptop, otherwise despite the window netting, creatures still found their way in. This is a perfect jungle retreat. Lot's of sights and noises to see and experience. A short walk away from a beach that seems to always be empty, and a 20 minute walk away from town.

Wonderful location!
My daughter and i stayed at Casa Moabi for 2 nights. Tom, the co-owner, was so accommodating and helpful - always there to ask questions and provide suggestions. Our room was large and air conditioned - which was really nice, with a lovely outdoor kitchen. The common area with hammocks and sofas is so welcoming and a wonderful place to meet others...

Wunderschön im JUNGLE. Sehr relaxt.
Das kleine, sehr persönliche Hotel liegt im Jungle und der Strand ist in ca. 5-10 Minuten zu erreichen. Das Team ist toll, Wifi gut und alles sehr entspannt.

Nice for the area
The room was comfortable and clean. Very simple but it was all we needed. The common area was useful if you want to cook meals. The owner has a very nice dog (mastiff that is huge) I love dogs...the dog does smell pretty bad though which I'm sure is due to the heat and humidity so just a heads up on that. On of the seating areas had pillows, I have a feeling the cat that has taken up residence has used them a bit to much as it made the couch smell of cat pee.

Naturaleza por todos lados!
Todo estuvo muy bien, excelente desayuno, nos pudieron cambiar de cuarto y atendernos muy bien, el unico problema es que nunca tuvimos wifi. Pero fuera de eso todo estuvo bien, si lo que buscas es un lugar para.relajarte y estar en contacto con la naturaleza este es el lugar ideal.

Cute and cozy but noisy morning
We arrived late and the hotel was nice to stay up to check us in. It was clean and cozy. However the next morning, hammering, drilling, and more hammering started at 10. You can hear everything in the hotel so be warned of you get in late and are trying to catch up on sleep, probably won't happen.

Un petit coin de paradis parmi la végétation et les animaux. Nous avions réservé la Casita(grande hutte avec deux étages) juste pour nous quatre et on a pu voir la fameuse grenouille verte au yeux rouge du Costa Rica, des superbes sauterelles, les singes hurleurs(=gros aboiements de chien rauque). Le plus: Le gérant parle le français. Nous reviendrons chez eux!

Nice Little Hotel
The rooms are nice and clean. There is no air conditioning, but there is a fan. The hotel staff are really friendly and helpful with getting around. It's located a little in the woods, so you can hear Howler monkeys outside and see monkeys climbing through the tree tops. It's a short bike ride from local restaurants, beaches, the Jaguar Rescue center and the heart of Puerto Viejo.
