“Father and son stopover after two days of hiking during a long drive home. The Wellington Hotel was exactly what we needed — easy check‑in, no fuss, clean rooms, comfortable beds, hot showers, and a genuinely tasty breakfast that set us up for the rest of the journey. Simple, welcoming, and spot‑on. Highly recommended.”

“Beautiful accommodation. Friendly staff. Great price including a wonderful breakfast.”

“Room was clean and comfortable but starting to show signs of needing attention (worn through couch covers, split pillow case) the TV didnt want to turn on and there has been a downgrade in the bathroom amenities from the baylis & harding i loved. Parking was plentiful”

“Room was clean and tidy and access was really easy. Was a bit disappointing to see the room which we had been down graded to due to unforeseen works being carried out. Hotel is nice and welcoming. “Excellent hotel. We expected the Grab and Go breakfast to be somewhat basic but it was more than adequate with bread for toasting, croissants, muffins, cereals and porridge, fresh fruit and yoghurts available. Our room (room 10) had a stand alone roll top bath which was a bit of a surprise for the money we paid. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return”

“Stayed overnight on a Friday, and I needed to be at a venue for am, n ot realising that breakfast on a weekend begins at 8am! The staff were great and made me a drink and hot bap to go so I had something inside me. My partner went for the breakfast and absolutely loved it!”

“We enjoyed a wonderful stay, and a really good meal too, thank you!”

“The hotel had a 'run down' feeling and we were disappointed that there was no breakfast on offer.”

“The place looks old, tatty and worn, but reasonably clean and I did sleep really well after initially thinking the mattress was too soft. At £89 per room it was a little bit more than I thought it was worth.”

“Loved this place. Peaceful, clean, decorated with love, very well equipped, super comfy bed.”

“All good . Quiet location Superb breakfast The Fat Abbot is very good too”
