Ingles, Virginia hotel rooms at the Independent

"Over all a great place."

"Decent middle of the road hotel. Fairly clean and spacious room, and and they served a pretty good free breakfast. Useless weight room."

"DO NOT BOOK this hotel. I booked this on 4/3/26 through Hotels.com while driving FL-OH with my mother. We pulled in and there were no cars in the parking lot except for a couple in a poorly lit section toward the very back. The lighting is overall was poor, including inside the hotel. I drove up to look in the lobby and saw no activity- no guests, no staff. Mind you, this was a Friday evening. It felt VERY off. We drove to FIVE other hotels along the strip, no rooms available until the last one. WHY would ALL the other hotels be at full capacity but NOBODY was at this Ramada? When I contacted Hotels.com, they were polite, but as I didn’t get the extra “cancellation” insurance, I was not refunded. Hotels.com tried contacting this Ramada by phone AND email repeatedly and 1.) were put on hold and disconnected 2.) were not answered when they called back 3.) all voicemails and emails were ignored. This Ramada is not a hospitality business, you’re not safe to stay there. Hotels.com is not screening their hotels if this is still available to book through their website. "

"The breakfast was good. The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our only issue was the TV remote did not work in our room and it took them awhile to get us a new one. We missed the Kentucky Derby!"

"We arrived at 11 pm. It was pouring out and there is no awning/covered area for unloading. We drove to a competitor’s facility to get our overnight items ready so we wouldn’t get soaking wet. The receptionist was completely indifferent and not helpful. The hotel is clean and has lots of little thoughtful amenities that we appreciated. We woke up at 8 a.m. to someone banging on our door asking if we needed towels- no because we just checked in 9 hours ago. I mentioned this to the staff downstairs and they proceeded to yell at the employee in front of me. So unprofessional and yes- they did argue in front of me. Awkward. Breakfast was great- lots of choices including gluten free options which is not typically the case. Nice hotel, but I would not choose it again after our experience."
