"The pictures are super old and the rating is surprising. The staff was sweet and did offer an upgrade after I spent my first night sneezing and coughing all night since there was a very strong smell and had to keep the windows open but their dusty blankets gave me an allergic reaction. The Prince Hakone Lake Ashinoko
10/10 Excellent
"Really large rooms and beautiful view of the lake. One of my favorite hotels. The free shuttle bus from the train station helps a lot."
"This hotel was amazing. From the moment we walked on the premises we were greeted by friendly staff who helped us with our luggage and made our check-in very easy. The lobby is nice but the view of lake Ashi was breathtaking. The onsen was something special. It has multiple baths and an open air setting that will be hard to top. The dinner and breakfast buffet meals were amazing and dinner included Japanese whiskey. If you’re looking for something to balance out the crowded busy city life of Japan, this hotel will give you a retreat you’ll never forget."
"Beautiful place, great food and classy top notch. The best of all the staff at the front desk Yaminsha a caring gentleman that helped us with translating for transport from to train. I am very appreciative of his help. Good people are hard to find and there are plenty in this hotel. More than grateful.

"I’m born and raised in Japan but currently living in the US. I have experienced nice Onsen hotels, but this is the best. I’m pretty sure that I’ll come back to this place!!"
