"Clean and convenient. Staff is amazing. I didn’t like the parking cost. I am a paying guest and I have to pay for parking! That doesn’t make sense."

"The staff was friendly. Unfortunately, there were added parking and resort fees upon check-in. The pool was closed for 1-1/2 days for maintenance. Otherwise, it was a nice resort and the location is convenient and close to restaurants and activities."

"We travelled with our adult children. The check in was without issue. I rented an extra bed from an outside vendor but in retrospect, it would have been better to rent from the hotel. The room was very nice. It was not ocean view but the view of the mountains were spectacular! It had 2 bathrooms, which was a bonus. We took advantage of the photography service onsite and that was also very good. The restaurant was a little hiccup. They did not appear busy so we tried to eat there the first night stine we did not have reservations anywhere else. They said that they would text us when a table was open and that never happened. We ended up eating in the bar which was not bad! Overall, it was a nice hotel and tge stay was pleasant. FYI, people get up early in the mornings and put towels on lounge chairs at poolside to reserve them although they don’t intend to use them until later in the day so you may want to do the same…"

"Pretty nice overall, becoming dated for sure but its right on the beach and the staff are great. Slow service at the resturants on the beach, they seemed pretty understaffed during the busy times. We waited a while for attention from servers several times which is a bummer due to how expensive this place is, but otherwise all good."
Aston at The Whaler on Kaanapali Beach

"We had a fantastic time! Our condo was a little dated, but it was so practical and clean with a great location that I didn’t mind. If you stay at The Whaler, try to get a room on the north side of the south tower or the south side of the north tower. Our room was on the south side of the south tower and our view was good, but the other views would have been spectacular! Also, being able to walk to the shops, restaurants and activities in front of of the Whaler was awesome. So much more convenient than moving a car!"
