Can't say enough good things about Mellow Space Boutique Rooms. It is was it calls itself. Very mellow. I stayed there with my wife and 5 year old in Jan/Feb 2017. The owner, Dave, was there both for our arrival and our departure and was always available to help with ideas for day trips or to answer any questions. He had just put in a new restaurant in December 2016 and early January 2017. Turns out it was one of our favorite places to eat, so we ate there almost every day for at least one meal. The staff was great and friendly and the room was always clean. Perfect place for a family. Simple, but always very clean and a 5 minute walk past all the shops to get to the beach. We had a mountain side room, which provided an awesome view. We had breakfast on the balcony each morning. I'm super sensitive to mosquitoes and we never use air conditioning and prefer an open sliding glass door, so I was happy there was no issue with that. I just sprayed my feet with a light dusting of non-toxic citronella (that I bought at the small store next door) and I didn't have any problems with them. Everything is close by. Pharmacy, good places to eat, a 7-11 accross the street, & a locally owned minute market next door. Highly recommend for families or those that enjoy quiet. Those I spoke to that had street side rooms said they didn't have any problems with noise, so if you don't mind A/C then I'm sure that side of the hotel is great as well. Will definitely be going back!
