“No air con in the hotel rooms so a little uncomfortable if hot day. However everything else was superb! Breakfast was lovely and staff couldn’t do anymore for you.”

“We really enjoyed our 5 day stay at the Hotel, our standard room was of a very generous size, much bigger than a lot of hotels which was very pleasing. The Hotel throughout was spotlessly clean, and the food was excellent, the staff were very helpful, and the cost was very reasonable, there was always plenty of parking spaces in the car park, and we will definitely visits again, the Hotel exceeded our expectations.”

“Lovely stay breakfast was delicious and staff very attentive. Room was modern but had a few cosmetic issues such as tape on laminate flooring and a shower screen that didn't stop the water from pouring out. It didn’t affect our stay but from a glance minor repairs could be made. Would still happily book again as location and breakfast alone was well worth it ”

“Lovely stop on the way to Cornwall. Gorgeously comfortable bed and linen. We arrived exhausted from a long transatlantic flight with 2 cats and the owner was so kind to us. She saved our bacon as we honestly could not have driven further! Superb breakfast and we will definitely return 💜”

“I was soaking wet when I arrived and the staff couldn't be more helpful in getting me booked in quick. The room was excellent with everything I required and the breakfast had plenty of options. All in all very pleasant. Would use again if around the area. ”

“Good quiet location on the edge of Bridgwater looking out onto fields. Busy pub mid-week in April when we were there with people sitting out enjoying the weather. Good dinner and breakfast.”

“A fabulous pub / hotel! The staff were super friendly but very professional. The room we had was exceptional - a family room with double bed and 2 bunk beds (one of which housed our adult daughter without any problem). The new interior decorations were gorgeous - Pooky lights, artwork on the walls and corridors etc. Breakfast was magnificent (full vegetarian) and the bar in the evening was great with good choice of drinks and background music at the right level. “We absolutely loved our stay at the Royal Lion. Perfect location, lovely room and great service. Breakfast was a nice experience with plenty of choice. Sharon on reception was really helpful and made check-in and out an easy, seamless experience.”

“Great pub super location but the restaurant part needs looking at had English breakfast twice and it started at 8am we sat down at 8.05 and the bacon, sausage, hash brown were rock hard and a lot of people were asking for yogurt but were told sorry but delivery was late (3 days late) Would we go again.
