Great location for sightseeing & clean modern inn

Maifukan is our favorite hotel in Kyoto and we are repeated guests. This year we took/stayed in 2 rooms as we invited my aunt and cousin. As we enjoy staying in the heart of Kyoto and neighborhood which is typical and quiet, this hotel is ideal, specially, for walking to various sightseeing points of interests and various choices of restaurants. The hotel is a small and clean and staff are friendly and courteous. If you want elegant and gorgeous hotels, I don't recommend/

Ho soggiornato in questo hotel incuriosito dalla possibilità di prenotare una camera tradizionale. Lovely hotel

Loved this hotel. The staff were so friendly and could not do enough for you. The hotel has a great location, just at the edge of the old town and the beginning if the temple trail but not far from the metro. Would definitely stay again. Particularly enjoyed the Japanese pyjamas which were left for you which made a great photo opportunity.

Beautiful hotel in a quiet but convenient location. We had the most wonderful stay here. The staff were extremely pleasant and friendly, and very accommodating. The room was a perfect Japanese style, with really comfortable fouton bedding, and gorgeous sleeping gowns. The best part is the mini onsen you get in the bathroom. So great for weary travellers, and a special treat on our honeymoon. I highly suggest staying in the Japanese style room so you get the full experience.

Nice hotel in walking distance to many temples

This is a very nice hotel well situated for walking to many of Kyoto's famous temples. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room spacious for Japanese standards. Would definitely stay there again and can highly recommend it.

Great location for exploring Gion!

The staff was very attentive and helpful upon arrival. We were quite early but they stored our luggage and offered us some free bottled water. We enjoyed our stay here and unfortunately didn't get to use the outside terrace as we were back to late each night to take advantage of it. The only downside is having to walk to the other side of the river if you want to do things later at night but there are definitely closer restaurants if you're just looking to eat.

Lovely Hotel close to many good sights.

This Hotel was perfect for our stay in Gion. The staff were wonderful and the most caring and pleasant we have met anywhere in the world. Nothing was too much trouble for them to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel is clean and in an excellent position. Loved it and would highly recommend it to other travellers.
