Bel abri pour les descendants de Cro Magnon !
Accueil chaleureux. Chambre parfaite. Petit déjeuner fabuleux. On pouvait craindre le bruit extérieur de la circulation routière et ferroviaire mais l'isolation phonique est efficace. Une réticence : les plats proposés au menu du soir n'ont pas changé pendant les 3 jours ! Bilan très positif. N. Rey

Satisfait des prestations de l'établissement, les conseils donnés sur les activités à faire dans la ville nous a pleinement ravi, notamment la visite de l'abrit Pataud, visite et explications d'un site de fouille ainsi qu'un musée propre au lieu de fouille. Great charm, welcoming host, plenty of hot water and comfortable beds. Spacious and clean room, fabulous location and really great restaurant. Free parking shaded by trees Some noise from nearby train line and road but not enough to dusturb us.

Could Have Been Better
Cro-Magnum needs some attention. There was no holder for the hand shower and lack of pillows. While the staff was engaging and personable, there was no effort made to assist with baggage and given that there was no elevator ( which is fine), a little assistance would have been appreciated.

Great location.
The hotel was lovely. The owners could not be described as warm and fuzzy. For a few nights, we seemed to be the only guests and they made us seem like an imposition.

L’Hôtel du Cro-Magnon
This hotel is a real gem, the owners are very friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Beautiful location with parking in front of hotel. The breakfast is excellent - many delicious choices, and the hotel restaurant had a wonderful evening menu - beautifully prepared and served and so tasty. Have stayed there several times before and will return next time we are in Les Eyzies.

I visited during off season. The hostess was excellent. I would stongly recommend the restaurant. Food was well presented and they prepared a delicious vegetarian meal for me. The hotel is very old with electic funishings from many eras. Very clean. Do not expect 2018 funishings or bed dressing.

Unique hotel within walking distance to town
We only stayed one night but this hotel was really unique. It was fairly old but well kept and clean. Our room was on the top floor so there were stairs to climb up with luggage but the clerk offered to help. We thought the rock wall at the back of the hall was awesome. The room has a run with a handheld shower but it worked great. I loved the big Windows with shutters and vines. It was lovely. We didn't eat in the restaurant or have breakfast but it looked great. I would highly recommend.

Perfect!!
Cro-Magnon is located in the wonderful town of Les Eyzies. The hotel is one of the venerable, charming places that make you think of old Europe. It is on the edge of town, out of the touristy area but easily within walking distance of the entire town, including Fonte Du Gaume, one of the most beautiful painted caves in the area. The hotel management is very helpful, the food is excellent, The outside yard is the most peaceful and peaceful place for some wine or for a full dinner. This was my second stay, and I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

Immeuble de caractère. Belles grandes chambres tout confort. Hôtel en retrait de l'agitation du centre. Eyzies-de-Tayac est une excellente adressé pour naviguer dans la région. Tout est à faible distance. Je retournerais à cet hôtel si je revenais dans la région.

Convenient and clean hotel.
Good clean hotel with a comfortable bed. Dinner in the restaurant was quite good. Location was quiet yet central for walking to local sights/museums. It was also convenient for area sightseeing. Free parking was a plus. Would recommend.

Lovely Hotel (north of Sarlat)
We stayed two nights - a gem of a hotel in this beautiful part of France. Only potential drawback that I can think of is the lack of soundproofing which, in our case, was no problem because any fellow hotel guests were not raucous. The pool and patio area looked inviting, but were closed due to the weather.

Great Place to Stay in Les Eyzies
The Hôtel Le Cro-Magnon was a fun place to stay while visiting Lascaux and other prehistoric sites in the Perigord region. The family-run hotel is old (actually built into a limestone cliff) but comfortable. The dinner menu is limited but the food is good. It is across the road from the Vezere River and a short walk to other restaurants in Les Eyzies and the wonderful Musee National de Prehistoire.

Deux nuits passées dans cet hotel situé à l'entrée du village de Eyzies. La déco est un peu vieillote mais l'hotel est bien tenu. Petit coin piscine au pied des falaises. Le point faible est le petit déjeuner un peu cher.

Good location for historic sites
Quaint and comfortable, this hotel is in a great location for those who are visiting the prehistoric cave painting sites in the area. Friendly and helpful staff. Even though the room was not air-conditioned, a fan was provided. Clean bathroom.

This appears to be a mom & pop operation, but it runs like a Swiss watch. The food (breakfast and dinner) is excellent particularly given the price. It is built into the side of the Les Eyzies cliff which bulges into the third-floor hall way. It is on the far end of Les Eyzies, but the town is so small it doesn't matter. It is home base for cave exploring.

Friendly, quiet, clean, good food
Nous avons passé une nuit. L'hôtel est très agréable, et nous y séjourneraient à nouveau. Le restaurant de l'hôtel est excellent. Ce fut l'un des meilleurs repas que nous avons eu à côté de restaurants Michelin notés. Bien que nous vivons en France, nous sommes Américains et nous avons donc préféré une douche debout avec la barrière d'eau. Au lieu de cela, la chambre avait une baignoire avec douche à main et aucune barrière à l'eau. Mais cela n'a pas d'importance pour de nombreux visiteurs. La chambre était de bonne taille; le lit était un peu petite et flasque. Il a besoin d'un nouveau matelas. La chambre est très calme.

Excellent séjour à l'Hôtel CRO MAGNON
Le personnel de l'hôtel est d'une efficacité, discretion et amabilité incroyable. La tenante de l'hôtel se rend vraiment disponible pour vous aider dans vos parcours. Nous avons fait quelques randonnées et elle a su nous guider bien mieux que l'office de tourisme de la ville des Eyzies... C'est un hôtel avant tout rustique et chaleureux, sa façade et très belle également. Mais ce n'est pas ici que vous verrez une décoration tendance et design, c'est un hôtel encastré dans la falaise qui surplombe Les Eyzies et l'hôtel joue avec ce point d'attrait. Les chambres et sallede bain quasi neuve sont d'une propreté irréprochable ainsi que le service des chambre qui effectue les changements adéquats des serviettes, draps et poubelles. Nous avons découvert également que le restaurant de cet hôtel est le meilleur que nous avons testé des environs!! Gastronomie un peu à l'ancienne mode des années 90 mais cela reste extremement bon et fera l'affaire des bons gourmets. A proximité, une gare qui vous permettra de vous echapper dans les grandes gares du coin : Bergerac, Sarlat ou Perigueux pour quelques euros.. C'est un bon petit pied à terre pour les environs quand vous souhaitez faire des belles ballades en foret et faire quelques visites notamment son Pôle Internationale de la Prehistoire qui est sublime et qui se trouve dans les Eyzies même à 4 minutes de l'hôtel! Courrez y!

Sleepy History Town, Traditional historic Hotel
Fascinating building built into a cliff face (cliff forms wall of 2nd floor corridor!). Oldest, and probably most traditional, hotel in town. Cro Magnon Man was discovered just behind it. Staff friendly enough. Good food although limited veggie options (not an uncommon phenomenon in this area of France). Long corridor (reminiscent of The Shining) where motion sensitive lights don't always respond quickly can make for a spooky walk to room. We went out of season (late october) and had no access to the pool or garden we presumed because of the time of year. There also was no bar. And as in the week you can't get a drink in town past 9.30pm most places I'd say this would be a good quiet hotel for anyone not really wanting to party! No air con, but fan available. Slightly noisy old fridge could keep you awake.
