Traditional friendly Irish welcome, excellent plentiful breakfast great variety from continental to full on Irish fry. Very tranquil, peaceful setting overlooking gweebarra Bay ideal base for walking or exploring this part of Donegal.

Faultless stay

Wonderful stay at The Eagle's Nest. A warm welcome and what a beautiful location. Great view over the Gweebarra River. Room was comfy, warm and spotlessly clean. Really enjoyed the continental breakfast, great selection of food on offer. Great coffee. Would definitely stay again if in the area. Added bonus was Bonnie the dog 😊

Our host was a lovely person and there is a friendly horse, cat and dog on the premises. Optional to interact with them or not. Quiet place, host serves classic English breakfast per your request.

Nice small apartment

I was solo so slept on the comfy sofa bed. All I needed was there. Friendly host plus Jodie, the cats and Bob all greeted me on my coming and going. Great breakfast. Lovely walking beaches very close by plus moorland and small towns. Thank you

Great Stay

Super cute! I loved this place. The owners were super friendly, made a great breakfast. If you speak German it's the perfect place to stay. Bob the horse greeted me as I was coming up to the house. They also have a cat and a dog. All very friendly! Room was super comfortable and cute. The area was beautiful too. There's a local pub (cash only) nearby that you can walk to and get a couple pints.

Cooked my own breakfast!!!

Owner was out of the country. Had someone meet us to check in and give keys. Next morning went well, breakfast in time. Second morning no one showed. I cooked my own breakfast!! We decided to leave due to this. Owner will not refund. Do not recommend.

A must stay!! Eagle’s Nest was an absolute delight. Having travelled alone with my 10-year-old daughter from the United States, we felt so at ease and the perfect home away from home. Anne and Rainer were the perfect hosts, we were in the best of hands. We stayed 3 nights in the apartment, which was very clean, decorated nicely and had all the amenities we needed. Rainer was very sweet to cook us breakfast each morning and helping us plan our day, including a day trip loop of the surrounding area (which included Adara Waterfall and Maghery beach-which became one of our favorite spots during our 10-day trip). My daughter loved feeding the horse, Bob, carrots and being greeted by the very friendly dog, Bonnie. County Donegal was one of my favorites and Eagle’s Nest was perfect for us. I highly recommend staying here, wish only wish we could have stayed longer.

Location: This property is situated in a scenic area near to the Wild Atlantic Way at the edge of the hauntingly beautiful Blue Stack Mountains of Donegal. If you enjoy walks, it is conveniently close to a lovely beach, and an entry point to the Bluestack Way. It is about an hour’s drive to Glenveagh National Park, and sites of historical interest such as the Beltany Stone Circle, and the Griannan of Aileach. Facilities: The apartment is situated behind the main house and has heated floors (important in winter and fall months). It has a small kitchenette with basic amenities, an ensuite bathroom and two full size beds (one of which is a sofa that can be made into a bed). The loft bedroom is small, but cozy. There is a window in the loft for air circulation should one need it. The staircase up to the loft is narrow and steep, so care must be taken while traversing it. We found the apartment to be clean, cozy and comfortable. A lovely wee home away from home. Hospitality: Hospitality: We truly enjoyed our stay with Rainer and Anne at the Eagle’s Nest! Each morning we were greeted with a fantastic breakfast, and a lovely chat. Rainer and Anne are happy to cater to meal preferences, if you let them know in advance. Additionally, we were also welcomed by their wee dog (Bonny) and cat (Jack) who were as friendly as their owners. We hope to return to the Eagle’s Nest again, and would definitely recommend it to fellow visitors.
