Diabolical!

Diabolical! At the reception, out of the blue, the man decided to insult me and belittle me, in front of my partner. Both, my partner and I were shocked by this. When I complained to his wife, she was helpful and got him to apologise. The apology, in a way, made things worse, because the man kept on saying that he wasn't being racist. Why did he bring race in to it? I didnt bring race in to it. I didn't see things in racial terms. I just saw him as plain rude! Why did he bring race in to the equation? Unless he was projecting his own racial issues. The man also made a big deal out of the fact that he waited for us till 8pm at the check in (we arrived at 7.55) But surely thats his job to wait, and we made it before the 8 pm deadline! Apart from that, the room was pretty grotty, I am flabbergasted that this property has received suc great reviews! Please check the photos that I've included!

The page on this website is very misleading. None of the 58 pictures are of anywhere remotely similar to the accommodation they are meant to represent!!! This is in the heart of terraced, urban Liverpool without any hint of greenery, and none of the photos are anything like the place! This impression overwhelmed any other, and was the source of my disappointment... this needs to be rectified so that future guests know what they've paid for!

Hidden little gem

We have stayed in Liverpool a few times before and had ok hotels, however this trip was our first in a guest house and we will use it every time we go from now on. Very conveniently located near the city but not too close, lovely room with everything we needed including a little fridge, clean and tidy, comfortable bed and nice bathroom, the hosts, Michelle and dave, were lovely and couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasant one, continental breakfast was nicely presented and very tasty especially after the night before indulgence, well worth the price and set us up for the day. On site comedian in the form of dave was an added bonus, nice garden courtyard area to sit in with a beer after walking around the city. A great place to stay at a really low price, already looking forward to planning our next trip to Liverpool and we'll definitely be staying here again. Thank you dave and Michelle for making us feel so welcome and thanks for your lovely guest house 10 out of 10. Diolch yn fawr from Wales

Frühstück war für den Preis in Ordnung. Die Gastgeberin, Michelle war sehr zuvorkommend und äußerst nett. Bei meiner nächsten Reise nach Liverpool werde ich definitiv wieder hier ein Zimmer buchen, vor allem auch da die Anbindung in die City sehr gut war und auch die Entfernung zu Anfield nicht zu groß ist, um dorthin zu Fuß zu laufen.

Good value for the money

The room was comfortable and very clean, the only fault is that the walls are thin and unless you are a heavy sleeper it is not for you as you will be woken up continually through people talking loudly, walking past the room to theirs - other than that it was good value for money

Comfy friendly and very close to the city

Had a great stay michelle was brilliant for checking in was running a little late gave her call and there was no problem . Got a free upgrade with a room with ensuite which was a lovely surprise. Cant fault the place very comfy bed nice shower and good breakfast facilities and very easy to get into the city .would stay again if back in liverpool.cheers Michelle really nice to meet you if is was only for 10 mins.

I booked this room at the last minute and was pleasantly surprised. Super friendly welcome and helpful staff. The room was clean, comfortable and served my requirements perfectly. The location was ok to get to Anfield or the city centre by cab and if you wanted to walk into town or the docks, it's not far at all. Plenty of space in the surrounding roads for parking too. If good value is what you're looking for, then you can't go far wrong with The Old Dairy Guest House.

Sehr schöne ruhige Lage, Bus-Anbindung ins Zentrum direkt um die Ecke, 20 min. sehr freundliches Personal, super entgegenkommend und hilfsbereit, sehr herzlich. haben uns direkt willkommen gefühlt. schönes Zimmer, sogar mit eigener toilette und waschbecken, entgegen unserer erwartung. Dusche im erdgeschoss, Bademantel steht aber zur verfügung! Frühstück sehr gut mit viel auswahl! wir sind insgesamt sehr zufrieden :) wenn man mit der gemeinschaftsdusche (eine duschkabine, kein waschsaal o.ä., also möglicherweise etwas wartezeit), dann ist dieses gasthaus wirklich perfekt :)

Great Guest House

Second visit to The Old Dairy, this is a smashing Guest House. Short bus/taxi ride from Centre of Liverpool taxi £5 each way all day bus ticket £4.40. Could walk if nice day. Michelle great host very welcoming. Rooms are great size light and airy. Cannot fault anything with this great Guest House excellent value.
