La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Jamaica Nyc/Jfk Airtrain
10/10 Excellent
"We checked in @ 1:30am from JFK, exhausted. Kenny was wonderful! Gave us a quiet room & made our difficult time EASY! So polite. He also arranged transportation forbus at 5:30am. He knew we were having travel difficulties & he eased our stress. Room was clean, bets of all: we had an incredable mattress, sheets & pillows. Great place for the price & close to JFK. We didn't eat breakfast there."
"I’ve stayed in this hotel many times, years ago. Since then i guess they’re under new management. Still a clean hotel and the location is the best. But the rooms aren’t as cozy as they used to be. The hotel restaurant is different…and mediocre at best. The coffee shop in the lobby is no longer Starbucks. It’s decent, but coffee is kind of weak. You can’t charge anything to the room anymore, which just seems dumb considering they’re right on the property.
The worst thing was that it was unseasonably warm in NY and the hotel and rooms were HOT. We asked the desk to adjust the temperature in our room because you can’t control it yourself. We heard other guests with the same complaint. All they did was open the window.
This used to be my go-to hotel when i stayed in Brooklyn. Not sure if I’ll stay here again. It was a disappointment considering we used to love it years ago."
"The only reason I gave 4stars some two of the questions was; the area was near the projects where their was a lot of police one day, I felt safe they were there but alarmed at their presence and the amount, next was the room didn’t have a fridge or microwave in the room. Other than they my stay was awesome, the staff was a pleasure and the guy at the counter w/the glasses was very nice he found my ID that I didn’t realize I lost until it was time to check out! He did write down his name for me but I forgot it in my other coat. All and all I would book. Again even with the minor (conveniences) not available. But just about a block maybe two way there are a lot of places to choose to eat and it’s very close to public transit! I really like my room deposit being in cash because I don’t have to wait 2-3 days for it to come on my card I get it right as I’m checking out! "
