I had 2 rooms and there were problems with both.
Problem with room 1: reservation was for a "Standard Room, 1 King Bed." They gave us a queen room without telling us. After I brought this up they offered $20 in compensation, they said they would refund to expedia but hasn't happened yet.
The unacceptable issue: My second reservation was for an "Accessible King Room". In Expedia, in the room description, it says "Grab bar in shower" and "Shower grab bar height (inches): 32" among other things.
There was NOT ONE grab bar in the shower.
I called the hotel right before I made the reservation to ask if this accessible room had a roll in shower as well (no step to get in the shower). They said yes.
After we saw the room and they told us all their accessible rooms are the same, we explained we couldn't use the room since the person using it wouldn't be able to shower. We would look for a different hotel that could accommodate us. They said they wouldn't issue a refund.
All this took a couple of hours, by that time, we were tired and needed to rest for a flight the following day, so we stayed the night.
I trusted the description of the room in expedia and what I got was NOT what I paid for. The issue with the other room was just an annoyance and I would be OK with it even without the $20 credit. The issue with the accessible room is not. I should not have to pay for the room and that description needs to be updated so expedia doesn't promise services/amenities that don't exist.
