“This was a neat place to stay. I wish I would’ve had more time to play golf. Our room was ok. There were a ton of ants and gecko’s in our room which is to be expected building anything in a warm climate. The only complaint, which was not the fault of the resort was the power went out and our room became absolutely stifling. There were no cross windows to open and no fan on a back up power source or even a battery fan in case of emergency which would’ve helped considerably. Overall our stay was...

“When we arrived we were met by Leo who was our contact for the entire stay. He was our bartender, waiter, and tour guide. Leo made our vacation memorable, he went above and beyond. The resort was beautiful and all the employees where friendly and did everything to make sure we were comfortable and happy. When we go back to San Ignacio we will be staying at this resort again. The food was amazing.”

“The hotel and property were not as advertised. There is no air conditioning on site in any building used by guests. We were forced to seek other lodgings after a termite swarm invaded both rooms, the pool, dining area and reception. We paid for two rooms for two nights, and yet were given no partial refund despite our being on site for less than two hours. I do not recommend this hotel, ever.”

And while not a nightly occurrence, having howler monkeys howling the first evening really set the tone to remind me I wasn't in California. Theodocios, our assistant at the Rainforest Retreat was an excellent guide and his wife, Francelia cooked delicious breakfast and dinner that was included with our stay. She also does laundry. We stayed one night there in the Eco-Pods and the 2nd night at the Chaa Creek Lodge. Docios shuttled us back and forth and provided excellent guidance.”
