Great stay at Riad Heklek. The property is beautiful and newly renovated. There is lots of room and comfortable beds. The room has welcome treats and small water bottles. The shower water pressure was very low and not a lot of hot water. They do ask for your room key as you leave the property which was different for us. Breakfast was delicious and fresh in the morning. Muhammed is very friendly and helpful. The location is close to most streets and taxis will find it difficult to pick up and drop you off on narrow streets. Not a big issue unless you have large luggage. Thank you for the great stay and being so welcoming.

Die Lage ist super, zu Fuß ist die Medina gut erreichbar, man ist praktisch voll im Geschehen, Es war sauber und das Personal sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein. Und im Frühstücksraum war es sehr kalt, was zu anderer Jahreszeit wahrscheinlich von Vorteil ist.

Sehr zentral gelegen, man ist mitten im turbulenten Alltagsleben. Der große Platz ist fußläufig in 10 Minuten zu erreichen. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend. Das Frühstück ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, vor allem, wenn man nichts Süßes zum Frühstück mag. Ein Stück Kuchen, ein Crêpe, eine Art Fladenbrot und Butter und Marmelade. Kaffe oder Tee. Der Orangensaft ist frisch gepresst 👍. Schade, dass es keine Dachterrasse gibt. Das Personal ist stets zur Stelle und sehr hilfreich, auch wenn man Ausflugstipps benötigt. Für eine Woche Aufenthalt eine Empfehlung.

Obwohl mitten in der sehr lebhaften Kashba, sehr ruhig und wie eine kleine Oase der Ruhe. Das Team ist sehr aufmerksam, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Gut organisiert, Transfers und Ausflüge haben top funktioniert.

Desde un principio me ha costado un montón contactar con el riad para pedir el transfer del aeropuerto. Estuve durante casi 1 mes mandando correos y no me contestaban,buscando en todos lados por si el correo estaba mal o lo habían cambiado. Les escribí por Instagram y tampoco contestaban...y ya a falta de una semana de viajar a marrakech les escribí por facebook y ya me contestaron. Me dijeron que el transfer me lo confirmaban y que era GRATIS. Llegamos a marrakech,nos recogieron,todo perfecto. Hasta que llegó el día de irnos. Nos dijeron que teníamos que pagar 220dirham por el transfer,y nos cobraron 50dirham de agua(cuando en la web te pone que es gratuita,como la transfer tambien). Yo enseñando el mensaje que me mandaron diciendo que era gratis,y aun así nada.No nos dejaron irnos hasta que no pagamos todo. Al día anterior pedimos dejar las maletas en la consigna y nos dijeron que si,que no había problema. Pero después de todo el percal de tener que pagar el transfer y todo,y que pusimos pegas a ello, de repente no podíamos dejar las maletas porque al día siguiente el riad iba a estar cerrado...qué casualidad vaya! En fin,que nos fuimos disgustados del Riad,con las maletas a todos lados y pagando de más.

Very good Riad, surroundings are just ok!

The Riad is very good! It's very clean and comfortable, the staff is very polite and accommodating and the prices are within a very reasonable range. The free breakfast included in our reservation was very nice. The only downside is the surroundings. I cannot say that I felt unsafe, but the residents scam you to pay for parking, directions to the hostel, etc... Overall, I recommend staying at this Riad, just watch out for scams nearby, specially if you have a rental car.

Lovely Riad, such a cosy little place in the heart of the Medina.. Staff definitely made the holiday, they were all so friendly and welcoming, and made our stay so easy!

Prima Lage, nette Zimmer, ein Hahn als Wecker :)

Wir haben zweimal innerhalb einer Woche im Heklek übernachtet, in unserer ersten sowie unserer letzten Nacht in Marokko/Marrakesch. Wir waren in unterschiedlichen Zimmern untergebracht und haben uns in beiden sehr wohl gefühlt. Im Zimmer hat uns die Deko bzw. die Zimmerbeleuchtung echt gut gefallen! Die Lage in der Medina ist ideal, man ist direkt mitten im Trubel, in einer engen Nebengasse, also perfekt! Das Personal ist nett, negativ war nur, dass mein 7h Frühstück nicht vorbereitet war, aber okay. Aufgeweckter war da schon der Nachbarshahn, der ab 4 Uhr in regelmäßigen Abständen krähte :)

Poor staff, lies, and deceit: Uncomfortable stay

The water pressure at the riad was very poor. The room was humid and very cold during the night. Even an extra blanket couldn't completely keep us warm. The location is good. Close to the medina and other parts of the Old Town. However, I was very disappointed with my stay. When we first checked in, the lady receptionist- the one who speaks English - tried to sell us a lot of excursions. We were interested in going to the outskirt, so we decided to sign up for just one excursion although she tried to corner us to sell more. We were promised that we wouldn't have to pay more than what was promised, but during the trip, we were forced to take a local guide and didn't have any say in the itinerary which incurred extra expenses. The driver was 45 mins late. We had to wait for others and ended up leaving 1hr and 45 mins later than the schedule. The pamphlet had wrong info - the travel time. We were ripped off during lunch, 300 percent markup of what you pay in the city. We also used their laundry service, but my tank top and our fabric bag were gone. Socks were not at all dry when we paid extra to have them dry. The receptionist lady didn't follow up on her promises. Bottom line: If you're willing to deal with a staff who is willing to lie to your face just to make a quick buck which you will find out a day later, go ahead. If not, don't book this place. P.S. When we made a complaint, she suddenly pretended not to understand us and tried to bargain with us.

Good value for money

Lovely staff although they will do their best to sell you one of their pricey day trips which I actually would not call trips as all they include is transport. Hard matteress, rooms are more downgraded than shown on the pics but overall a nice demo riad. Nice breakfast. Fine location, close to El Badi etc, 30 mins walk to other places (Jemaa el Fna).

Riad carinissimo, ottima posizione in una zona tranquilla. Colazione buona e personale gentile. Unica cosa:avevano imbiancato da poco e nelle camere c'era odore di vernice. Ad una parte del gruppo hanno proposto di dormire in un altro Riad (stupendo) ma gli altri sono dovuti rimanere lì.

Safe and convenient Riad for a great rate

Nadera was a great resource and helped direct us to the local places - including the doctor when needed. Her and her colleague both spoke english well enough to understand and make you feel comfortable. The riad is located within walking distance to everything so it is very convenient. The only drawback is that you dont get a separate key to enter the main gates of the riad, instead, hosts take alternating day night shifts and open the door for you when you buzz in. The breakfast is very simple but decent. The riad itself is nicely decorated and is cozy (not flashy or super stylish as you may expect from the instagram life pictures of other places). Overall it was a comfortable and safe stay - no regrets - p.s. we were visiting from Ottawa, Canada
