I loved Matera and this place!! It was a magical place!! Breakfast and service were superb!! They help me transport my luggage so that I don’t have to walk with it through rocky roads.

We loved our spa cave room at Thymus. It had a pool and a Turkish steam bath. The room accommodated four easily and was very clean and well appointed. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was excellent. We would stay again and highly recommend to anyone. Matera is a unique place and this is a one of a kind, top tier property.

This place is centrally located in the Sasssi. Staying in the cave was magical. Exceptional cleanliness! Amazing breakfast - made cappuccinos to order for us. Owners were so accommodating and set up parking for us and a shuttle. She also made dinner reservations for us! This was the best part of our trip to Italy! Stay here - you will not regret it!

Thymus Residence is a unique and charming hotel. The hostess met us with a warm welcome and the hotel was exactly as we imagined - a charming, high end, cave experience. Bravo to Bora who was more than helpful. Your restaurant picks were excellent as well! The property was immaculate, can’t imagine there is a nicer place to stay. Breakfast had lots of choices. The spa tub was great after a long very hot day.
