The photos are click baits, it is nothing like the real thing... I've also reported that there was only a trickle of water coming out of the shower so I've requested to be moved to another room. The front desk guy said they are fully booked and will look into it, but there was no one there, like literally... We found out that we can't move but also can't get a refund... We stayed first night hoping the guy would do what he promised he'd do to "look into it and let us know" but nothing happened. we did come back the last contracted night since we only needed a place to rest out back before our flight back to our hometown. If they had moved us to another room with running water I would've liked it here, but the guy made it very difficult to enjoy our stay.

Great price and breakfast!
The owner is amanzing and the breakfast wa s the best food we ate in Mexico City! Really great communal areas and the rooms are being renovated at the moment so it will be amazing once completed!

their was mold on the ceiling in the room we stayed in no ventillation the shower and toilet were together no curtain or some kind of division, you had to run the shower about 10 minutes before you got hot water and sometimes no hot water what I liked is that it was very cheap to stay their it was very secure the breakfast was good and close to the metro. I will not stay there again and I don't recommend this place.

I really enjoyed the experience of staying at this place. The staff was very helpful with any questions or needs. The room I stayed in felt humid most of the time it had a small window but due to the on going music outside, I kept it closed. I pretty much used this place for sleep. I would stay here again. It was simple,included breakfast daily, close to metro stop was a plus for me. I felt safe and I was not worried about leaving my belongings there. The staff was always around. I would stay here again!

Lovely little budget hotel, great location
Great location, very close to a metro station with 3 lines so very easy to get around. Only 3 stops to the main downtown area. Hotel is being renovated so the room we had looked quite fresh, only small complaint is the small size of the room. Javier is wonderful and extremely helpful. He gave us multiple maps for the city along with a metro card to load & use during our stay. Good solid breakfast available to start the day (toast, juice, coffee, scrambled eggs & refried beans). We would definitely stay again!

The best little hidden hotel.
I stayed here for 2 months and i felt very welcomed and enjoyed it so much. The entire hotel staff was friendly and fun. I will return many times. i felt very safe and this hotel is close to many stores, places to eat and local attractions. They provide a laundry service too for a very small cost.

Nice economical hotel close to airport
The hotel is close to the airport if the taxi driver knows the way. The airport taxi took a long route took about 35 minutes to get to hotel. But the return trip fron hotel to airport took only 10 to 15 minutes.

Great Location and Affordable Prices
Hotel La Selva was conveniently located to the public transportation and was only minutes from the heart of the city. I was able to save so much money by riding the public transportation and not having to depend on taxis or uber to get back and forth to the hotel. I will definitely be booking my next trip to Mexico City at Hotel La Selva

Good for the price
Definitely more of a hostel feel, so a little loud due to community areas. Nice breakfast prepared individually and super friendly staff. Not the fanciest of places but a decent stay for the price you pay.

I had 2 nights at La Selva for my recent quick visit to Mexico City. Overall, the hotel is excellent for a short stay. The room was small but very comfortable. The staff is friendly and very helpful (the administration office provided excellent service, help and information at all times), the breakfast was free and delicious... overall, a good choice. I travel a lot for business and pleasure. I have stayed in 7 star and in dumps... this place is neither... it was a great choice for my little Mexican adventure. Recommended!

The experience was horrible. My spouse and I couldn't sleep all night. There was constant coming and going of people in the hotel lobby. The noise was unbearable. We could hear everyone that checked in and out, their conversations, laughter and music. The noise level never ceased until about 3am. Then it started back up at 5am. We paid for four nights and only stayed one.

Party House Hotel from Hell
You get what you pay for. I don't even know how Expedia has this hotel as an option. My husband and I are not very picky when we travel but this hotel was horrible! The hotel staff was very inconsiderate in our need as guests to get a good nights sleep. We arrived at the hotel at 10pm after a busy day sightseeing. The least that we expected was not to get any sleep at all. The hallway to our room was noisy until about 2am. Everytime someone arrived you could hear the bell ring. There were people in the hall way talking and laughing until about 1:30am. After those guests decided to leave the noise from the music and television could be heard in our room. My husband finally went and asked the attendant at 2am to lower the level on the television because we could not sleep.The building was run down and hard to find. The restrooms had no shower curtain and the water from the shower got everywhere on the floor.

Rooms Rented by the hour
We took a taxi from the airport to Hotel La Selva. We knew we were in trouble when the taxi driver shook his head with a look of surprise on his face. We arrived to a graffiti covered building, in a very sketchy area. We looked at each other and decided that we were adventurous enough to give it a try. Upon entering, the owner, Xavier, was most cordial and accommodating, and remained so, during our stay. The interior is undergoing a complete renovation, and quite honestly, should be closed down during this time. The hotel is used mainly for the local working girls, and to be quite frank, I did not really waking up to moans, yells and screams at 3:00 am. We were schedules to stay 5 nights, left after 2. I cannot see how this hotel, even after renovation, will be a success to tourists, as the entire area needs an overhaul.

I stayed here for 2 weeks. The hotel owner (a male) spoke very good English, and was very helpful whenever I had a problem. Breakfast is supposed to start at 7:30am but quite often the lady who makes it turned up over 30 mins late. I also didn't realise that you had to pay extra for a room with a TV, so thankfully the free WiFi made my stay a bit more manageable with my laptop. The shower has a translucent window facing out into the corridor, which was very very odd and if you have the bathroom light on, there's a potential that people walking past your room can see you in the shower! I'm not really sure what the idea behind this design is... The cleanliness of the room was fantastic. The hotel was under construction while I was there, so napping during the day was impossible as there was always a loud drilling or banging, hence why I would only recommend staying here if you'll be busy during the day. There are 2 creepy guys that hang around on the street at the front of the hotel, who 'assist' you to park waving their hands, then demand money for 'helping' you (they don't work for anyone, they're just pedestrians). I refused to give one money once, when he 'waved' me on as I was already driving out of the space! He stuck his middle finger up at me in the mirror, so I didn't feel my car was safe there anymore so I had to pay $50MXN per day for off street parking, so that he or the other man didn't spitefully damage my car for not paying for 'protection'.

I saw 4 rooms each one had heavy accumulation of mold on bedrooms no hot water till 30 minutes no Internet. (Breakfast was okay) and my room door did not lock. A cucaracha came out of the hand sink sewer. My son and I did not have any choice but to stay one night this hotel is not for tourist or families is for couples to have quick sex Hotel in a very dangers area after 7 full of prostitutes

Better than your average old run-down hotel
The place is older, falling apart in areas, but for the price it is a great deal if you're a traveller without a bunch of hangups. To say that the staff are friendly, accommodating, and helpful would be an understatement. We both got the sense that everyone there genuinely cared about us any time we requested assistance for anything. The breakfast was good and made to order every day. The entrance to a huge subway station with 3 lines was a block away. We stayed 4 nights while seeking longer-term accommodations and would stay again because of the staff and the breakfasts.

The hotel esa conveniently located within 2-3 min walking distance from Chabacano station, which is 2 stops away from Zócalo. The staffs are super friendly and accomodating. Breakfast si fantástic. Wish wifi would Work verter in our Room

Great value clean hotel with friendly owner
I always stay at this hotel when I visit Mexico City. The owner is so friendly and helpful, the location is convenient, easy to get to metro and easy to get to the centre. The hotel itself is old and renovations are a slow job but the sheets and towels are always spotless and i feel safe here. Plenty of places to eat nearby, plus there is a large supermarket just a block away and a pharmacy next door to it.The metro station is a junction of 3 lines so super easy to get around.
