Exceptional Country Motel

Lovely hotel with homely welcome from owners. Rooms very spacious, clean with modern decor. Loved the non slip mat in the shower and the heat lamps were great extra. Resturant was a surprise for a country town.

I booked thinking we would have all we needed, as it was a long weekend.so I was very disappointed to find that the restaurant was closed and there was nothing else offered to us.( room service).our room was lovely and clean, even though the balcony could of been cleaned before we arrived.

Was a lovely room. Very clean and comfortable. The only thing missing was a pool and play area for kids. Off all the places we stayed on our way to Tassie and back, this place was one of the nicest to stay in. Thank you.

We stayed at the Swagsman on the 26th with 3 adults and 2 young kids (0 and 4). We booked the corporate room which Expedia booking site allowed for (we paid extra for an additional person as well). I called ahead to let them know that i would be late and they were happy to accommodate, they even set up the sofa bed for us for our arrival. Overall the stay was pleasant, the rooms were clean and spacious. Fast forward two weeks, I made the exact same booking for the 6th of November for our trip home, it cost a little more than our first booking but I was happy to go back because of our last visit. I figured I'd call ahead and let them know id be checking in late again, this time the same lady on the phone said your booking exceeds the max number of people. I explained that I had booked the same room 2 weeks back and they accommodated me even by setting up the sofa bed, she blamed it on Expedia stuffing up their options and said that we should be booking the family room instead of the corporate room. She wanted extra from me for that. I explained that the booking site allowed for and I even paid the extra person surcharge but she didnt offer any other options other than paying 50 bucks more, which is absurd because my infant co sleeps with me. I booked this place to my budget, so I couldn't afford to pay extra. I ended up booking another motel down the road who was happy to accommodate us for alot better price. I'm very disappointed in the way the Swagsman handled this

Clean, spacious room.

When the creek is full behind the motel it must be lovely to view from your room. A big plus for location. Nice roomy room and comfortable bed, but very noisy place, especially in the morning. Methinks there needs to be more insulation. Overall a pleasant stay in a pretty little town.

Stop off on way home

The Swagsman is a regular stop for my family on our travel between Gold Coast and Charleville, great modern facilities with everything one would need for a young family, our only gripe about our last stay was the long black hair we found all through the shower, think someone missed that shower when cleaning.
