โMy stay at the Shakespeare was short but will be remembered as a really good experience. I felt like a truly valued customer, everyone was so friendly and helpful.
The room was good and the bed was huge!! It was 2 lovely nights sleep, nice hot shower in the morning followed by a cooked breakfast. It really set me up for the day.
I would most certainly revisit and can recommend it for a good place to stay in Kendal.โ
โThe room was immaculate, clean and nicely furnished. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was tip top!
We shall DEFINITELY stay again!
The only drawback is that itโs too far to walk to town but there are plenty of taxis approx ยฃ6..
Unfortunately their restaurant wasnโt open as it was a week day but their recommendation of Bangkok 7 Thai restaurant was spot on and a โMust goโ place to eat- it was superb!โ
โHouse is clean and tidy. The kitchen has everything we need. Water pressure and temperature in all bathroom are perfect. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
The heater in ground floor got very loud noise after few hours central heating been turn on. Need to turn up the heating,(e.g. from 0 to 2, from 2 to 3)to stop the noise.
There were high pitch "beeps" from ground floor which woke everyone in house at 3am and 3:30am on the first night. Sounds like the smoke detector but we were not sure. However,...
โI booked my stay at this hotel through Expedia. When I checked in I was told that I hadnโt prepaid through Expedia. Because I was tired after a long day, I paid as requested by the hotel . Through Expedia I requested this double payment to be returned. Over a week later Iโm still waiting.โ
โThe staff were amazing as soon as we walked in, they will do their up most to ensure you are satisfied. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, both were really good. Bed was super comfy also. Would stay and and recommend. Thank you

โGreat hotel, room was clean, modern and had everything we needed. The view from the room was lovely and the beer garden by the river was a pleasant surprise! The staff was kind and polite and the food was delicious and plenty. Just one thing that would be more of a recommendation than a critique - I would suggest the breakfast offers other meat options alongside pork.โ

โBeautiful hotel in a peaceful location. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. We had a spacious room with a large window seat. Loved the bathroom towels which were big and very thick. The bar and dining areas are very inviting. Great breakfast, cooked to order. Wish we were staying longer! โ
โThere was a hiccup during check in due to the hotel not receiving the message about our dog staying with us. The hotel think this is due to Expedia not passing on the message. Anyway, the hotel quickly dealt with the problem and we had a lovely time. The food was excellent.โ
