โPlace was very nice, only thing lacking was communication. I reached out prior to visit along with during visit regarding a late checkout, but never heard back until I tried and reached out to a different source. Hotel was very nice and equipped with everything we needed, would gladly stay again!โ
โOverall, loved this hotel. Lovely style, great view and the breakfast was delicious (didn't try dinner). Walkable to the main shopping & restaurant areas but is far enough that it's quiet. Flybus Iceland provides drop off/ pick up from for airport transfers. Most attractions (lagoons, tours, excursions) also offer pick up/ drop off at this hotel, which is convenient if you're not planning to rent a car. I would stay here again if I am lucky enough to go back to Iceland.โ
โUnreliable, rude, unhelpful staff and shortage of towels.
One staff said I can keep my luggage on the messages but that day there is no one who keeps my luggage. I called the phone. Another staff takes the phone, they can't keep the luggage and yelled at me that who is it( about keeping luggage). There are so many stories but it is too long story.
Shortly l, they confused their policy and yelled at me but never apologizeed it.
Lastly, I'm not a good English speaker. When I didn't undersatnd...
โThe buffet breakfast was about the best I've had anywhere in the world. The beds were extremely comfortable. The rooms were clean and modern. The location was easy walking distance to many restaurants and shops. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended. โ
โI definitely can tell that this small luxury hotel was well designed and put a lot of thoughts. I really liked a simple scandinavian interior with a mixture of different textures all over. Moving TV which didnt block the view was very smart. I didn't really like the sliding door at the bathroom though. It was very uncomfortable when we use both shower and toilet at the same time.
The person who checked us in was really nice. She greet us very friendly even with our late check in. However,...
"I usually aim to leave balanced reviews, but our experience at this hotel was quite disappointing. We didnโt receive self check-in information until we contacted the property on the day of arrival, which caused unnecessary stress.
Once there, the front door passcode didnโt work โ not just for us, but for several other guests who were stuck outside in freezing weather during a Reykjavik snowstorm. It's advertised as self-check-in, but it should't be called "Self-Check-in" Hotel if the codes donโt function properly.
The room we were initially assigned also had no working heating, which was hard to accept in such extreme weather. When I called the help desk, I was told to wait until the next day. After informing them that I was traveling with an elderly, we offered a different room. Unfortunately, the heating in the second room failed the next day, and the help desk was unhelpful.
Lastly, the listing says there is free parking, which is true โ but spaces are extremely limited, so donโt count on availability.
Also, if you are not fluent in English, navigating issues here could be challenging and potentially frustrating, as communication might become an additional barrier.
On a positive note, I do want to acknowledge that the customer service team, when reached, was generally helpful and supportive. I truly appreciate that, but I would prefer not to be in a situation where I need to contact the team in the first place."
