I called with a few questions before my stay and had mild difficulty communicating with the non-native English speaking operators. They were not able to provide flowers or a fruit bowl in my room, which was just as well since there was almost no place to put it.
The room was indeed very small, and as pictured there was no closet. I paid extra for a city view, and for that got a room on the 25th floor with a great view. All the higher rooms cost extra. For me on vacation, it was well worth it.
The room is a keen demonstration of minimalism. There is open storage under the bed. There is barely enough space between the window and the side of the bed, but it is plenty if you are not supersized.
The app that lets you check in and unlock (instead of a key) the room with your phone was not working during my stay. For security, the lobby elevators require a room key (or presumably your phone) to operate. There are no buttons, you are simply taken to the correct floor.
The bed was comfortable. The soaps, gel, conditioner, etc. was fine. The Arlo provides water for free and reception will give an extra bottle or two, but they request you refill the bottles in the coffeeshop adjacent to the lobby.
I'd come stay here again. It would be a very convenient place to stay if attending something at the Javitz Center.
