"The rooms are a dormitory style, it has an air conditioning unit. It is quiet and is modern. It was very good value. The duvet is very thin, and should be thicker. The breakfast is very basic, it consists of pastries, cereal , coffee and tea. It had no fruit or t bags. It did not have much choice."

"It’s a very nice place, wonderfully decorated while still retaining the charm of the original property such a the windows. Although that has its downside, as with no double glazing and being next to a busy road, it wasn’t the quietest, but we managed ok. We had a king room so the bed was lovely and spacious, and was pretty comfortable. The bathroom was very modern, but could have done with more surfaces to put things. The shower was also big, but the water pressure could have been a bit better, and the shower glass was quite narrow so very easy to get the bathroom a bit wet. The room also had a small smart tv, which we appreciated. Breakfast was included and was nice. You can choose from 4 options. The portions are a little meagre though, for the price of the accommodation I would have appreciated more control over breakfast. They don’t do lunch or dinner at all, so you have no choice but to eat elsewhere or order takeaway. All the cafes and restaurants are I believe about a 15/20 minute walk away. We arrived somewhat late the first day and with no energy left to walk to a restaurant, so got a takeaway. The staff member on duty was very helpful by giving us cutlery. Overall, it’s a very acceptable place to stay, but I feel you’re paying more for the way the place looks rather than what you’re receiving."

"Only stayed one night, the beds are very tried and stain, the dressing table stool was not safe and the window did not lock. Bathroom was clean as was the bedding. Good location for visitors."

"Hotels.com offered an upgrade to a suite which I accepted and was confirmed in writing. Upon check-in was told that Hotels.com frequently do this even if the property is fully booked. Very disappointing. Room was ok. Quiet. Awful smell emanating from the toilet though."

"No parking available. Incredibly slow check-in. Another couple then let themselves into our room! Manager wanted to know why we were in there and when we had checked in. Keys clearly work on multiple rooms. We left as we felt uncomfortable and unsafe. Manager stated we had been given the wrong room, but said in such a way it felt as though it was our fault. Contacted the hotel twice regarding refund as we then had to find alternative accommodation at our own cost. No response at all. They also ignored hotels.com who we had booked through. Avoid at all costs."

"Bed was comfy and supplied with towels and basic toiletries. Staff were really polite and helpful. As this place has a function room and when we stayed there was a 21st party (on Friday) and a christening party (on the Sunday) the music can be loud and you just have to learn to drown it out. The children from the christening party were running riot and were not under control by the parents. The owners knew this and constantly kept telling them to stop running around and using the building as a race track. The owners were really apologetic to us and offered us a free breakfast for our trouble. If you are expecting the Ritz this place isn't and breakfast is at an optional cost, but it will not break the bank as a small cooked breakfast is £4.50. We were visiting friends in Stourbridge and this was 1/2 hour away and was a direct route from the M5 and easy to get to Cadbury's World which we visited on the Sunday. Will more than likely stay again when we are visiting our friends."

"It has the sleeping in your mom's basement vibe. Location is excellent with stores, restaurants, pubs and University energy. Easy and safe walk to train stations and bus stops. Easy for ride shares to locate you. Staff is offsite but very responsive; they fixed issues within a day. I think they were the most attentive of any of my UK stays. Their help is greatly appreciated. Roomy is cozy. Felt safe even returning to location at midnight. Great to have usable, onsite laundry to do a quick freshener of travel clothes. However, please get rid of the noisy, inefficient dryers. My "okay" rating is because of the noise. I could hear people entering and exiting, I could hear the folks walking around on the floor above, and there was an incessant noise and rattle in the walls from the clothes dryers. Apart from the noise, there was no linen service. I think that is a mist for any stay over 3 days. Travelers shouldn't have to wash your linens. Also, please add pillow and mattress encasements. You don't want everyone's sweat and odors soaking into the pillows and matress especially as there is no linen service. The bathroom wasn't thoroughly cleaned on arrival. I found some used travel toiletries on the floor. I'm not sure who they are marketing to; it's not a hotel yet it lacks the comfort of an AirBnB. It is in a very college area so not a major attraction for mature travelers. Had majority of the kitchen basics. "
