“Tough to get to but nice parking area. Google Maps takes you the wrong way so lookout. My room heater didn’t work and the lights in the bedrooms area didn’t work so had to depend on the glow from the bathroom light which did work. One of two small night stands didn’t work and the one that did had a short circuit so it went on and off. Breakfast was really weak but a very nice effort. This is a small place so it’s great if your expectations are in proper alignment. Location is fantastic....

“We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful well positioned hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Had good Wi-Fi and a nice bathroom and was a tiny bit on the small side compared to some of the other places we stayed. We took the most amazing photo from our bedroom. We recommend this hotel highly for its good value.”

“We were so impressed with this establishment! The woman at the desk was incredibly helpful, even helping us figure out how to make space for everything in our room. We paid for the laundry service and got it back the next morning, all folded and neat for us. She also let us park out front and keep our parking place several hours after we had checked out so that we could tour the Gjirokaster castle. This was invaluable as driving and parking in Gjirokaster is harrowing. Breakfast was included...

“What a lovely place to stay! From the moment we got there, we were treated like family, very modern comfortable inside with an old world seal. The staff was exceptional, walking us to breakfast in the morning, along with the comfort of the bed, giving us instructions on where to go and what to do at our time of arrival. Let’s talk about the bed!! Wow, I had the best night rest waking up two mountains that were snow, cats and the little village that was just waking up. Would stay here 1000 times...

“Es ist ein liebevolles traditionelles Hotel mit aufwendigen Holzdecken und dicken Steinwänden. Es war für eine Nacht eine kleine Zeitreise in die Vergangenheit. Das Hotel liegt mitten in der Altstadt und alles ist fußläufig sehr gut erreichbar. Wir hatten etwas Schwierigkeiten das Parkhaus zu finden, aber der junge Mann vom Hotel hat uns persönlich dorthin gebracht und alles hat reibungslos geklappt. ”

“Excellent location for exploring the Gjirokastër bazaar — right in the heart of it all. Arriving close to midnight made parking a bit tricky to find at first, but once we explored the bazaar the next day we discovered a convenient parking deck nearby with shortcuts that made getting to and from the hotel with our bags easy. Our room had stunning views of the mountains, the castle, and the city below — an unforgettable setting. Highly recommend!”

“Very clean comfortable basic hotel near the foot of the main road up to the old town. Ideally located to see both parts of the city. Staff were very helpful with laundry and transport.”

“We loved staying at Amalia’s house. Everything was spotless and cozy, and very peaceful and quiet. The courtyard is beautiful and it’s very easy to access the main areas of Gjirokastra with a quick walk up the hill. We’d love to come stay here again!”
