I'm so sorry that you feel this way about our hotel. I'm not sure if you are upset that the hotel is owned by a church or if you feel that the hotel itself is disgusting? I know this is an older hotel and that it is run down and outdated and we have made plans to update our hotel this fall with newer amenities (including new bedspreads, curtains, flat screen TVs and new flooring). Hi John, Thank you for the compliment regarding our staff. I like to think we hired some amazing people with caring hearts. I'm sorry to hear about your T.V. not working correctly and I will get our team on that right away and see if we can fix the issue so none of our future guests have that experience. I will also let the maintenance team know about the toilet not flushing correctly! Thank you for your honesty! This gives us the opportunity to fix what isn't working. I know this is an old hotel and has a run down feel to it but we do have plans for updates in our rooms and we hope to have those installed this fall! Hi Doug, Thank you for your transparency and your honesty! Our hours of operation for the front desk are 8 am - 8pm with the exception of having someone at the desk for our late ferry arrivals. We do have someone on staff on site at all times and they can be reached by phone from the rooms as well as the blue phone on the counter. Our hotel is old. Unfortunately that won't change but we have put a plan together to update the rooms with newer amenities this fall. I apologize for the experience you had during your stay. I will definitely share this feedback with our housekeeping and maintenance team so they can strive to do better. We hope that once our rooms have been updated that you will visit again and we can change this review into a more positive one. We are an older hotel and we try to keep the rate as low as possible. We work very hard to keep the rooms super clean. We are a non-profit organization and work with the surrounding communities and partner with the Salvation Army. We subsidize the residents wing for our disabled tenants and try to make a difference in our town of Port Hardy. We are truly working on updating this hotel when we can.
