"Everything was perfect until you try and leave the property. I checked out at 12 and went the long tail boats. They told me since I was only one person that I needed to pay 800 baht to go to Ao Nang. I did not want to pay 800 to go around corner so I waited for more people to come but no one showed after 1 hour. I finally decided to walk thru the jungle trail with my luggage to Railay beach where there are more people. There, the boat captains were pushy and rude and asking for 200 baht even though there were 8 people on the boat already. Now I’m on 2 hours of just trying to get off the island. The hotel really needs a private transfer back to the mainland at least at checkout and checkin times, for people that are guests of the hotel to avoid these debacles. The property is absolutely incredible and the staff is amazing but the private long tail captains take advantage of the situation and try to overcharge and make it difficult to get back to the mainland."

"Overall our experience was okay. The location is perfect for the Ao Nang strip. The hotel was well maintained and the rooms were a decent size. The hotel has you get an app that is VERT helpful. You can order room service and you can also request your room to be cleaned. We traveled with a 2 year old and the place is not considered family friendly to us."

"We stayed at Santhiya for a week and stayed in a villa. Everything was perfect for us. The staff was more than accommodating. It’s a shame that some guests don’t dress appropriately for dinner (swimsuits)."

"Breakfast was ok. Staff not wanting to help especially when wanting something from the egg counter. Was more of an issue rather than a service. We organised a tour through the hotel and this was just generic and poorly timed. Pick up late and lots of waiting"

"The hotel was completely misrepresented compared to the listing. The photos give the impression of a peaceful beachfront location; however, in reality the property is situated on a busy strip with loud music playing until the early hours of the morning and starting again shortly after. This made it extremely difficult to relax or sleep, significantly impacting our stay. We were initially placed in a room with a balcony overlooking a car park, which did not match the expectations set by the listing. After raising this with staff, we were moved; however, the new room—although offering a mountain view—was directly on the main road and was extremely noisy. Overall, the hotel is presented as a relaxing, “paradise” destination, but in reality it is more comparable to a loud, party-style hotel. This is a clear misrepresentation of the property and falls well below what was advertised and what we paid for. As this booking was made through Hotels.com, I am asking you to review this case and arrange appropriate compensation. Given the circumstances, I believe a [full / significant partial] refund is justified. I have supporting evidence, including photos and documentation, and would appreciate a prompt resolution."
