The hotel in general was very unkempt. The toilet did not workin our first room. We were moved to another room and it was dark and dull, much the same as the first. The other guests had allowed their children to run screaming in the hallway at midnight and 2:30 am, without management intervention. Consideration of guests was not priority.

The front desk staff were pleasant and customer service was fine. However, the room was in overall shoddy condition. The TV didnt work. Visible stains and grime on the walls. You can just tell the maintenance of the room is sub-par. The paintjob was sloppy with spattered paint on the ceiling and trim. The trim around the mirror was chipped and missing pieces. Bed wasnt particularly comfortable. If you are a single person just trying to find a cheap place to sleep for a night or two, this might be fine. But I wouldnt stay here with my family again.

Wanted to stay closer to Mechanicsville, but those hotels were $70-$100 more expensive. This property looks like it has been renewed in the somewhat distant past, but it is still in good shape, and the room looks comfortable, and the staff are very pleasant. Breakfast was a little disappointing: waffles, pastries, cereal, fruit. No proteins, no eggs.

Checked the bed in detail there were no signs of bed bugs, stains, odor, and it was comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. Plenty of parking. It was quiet. The shower water was pretty hot.
