“One thing I forgot about visiting the UK in a heatwave, older hotels do not have air conditioning, it was perpetually hot in the room. I asked for and received a very dusty pedestal fan which when turned on for the first time garnished the room in a cloud of dust. Room 16: Small things like loose wall sockets, loose and sagging shower curtain rail, fluid marks on the wall by the bed, open closet with very few hangers (for a longer stay such as mine) and, given that the window was always open for...
