I honestly think we got the last and perhaps the worst room in the motel. Our section looked pretty rundown from the outside and the door needs major upgrade/paint. I have to say the interior was clean but the closet door was unhinged and bathtub drained very slowly.

Love the staff, the vibe, and especially the gardens! The common areas are fun with an updated retro feel. Bar had great drinks. Only reason it wasnt a complete 5 star review is that our room was a bit spare and tired, but we also had a dog friendly room, which may be the reason.

Not the greatest. Staff was ok but there was no room service, and nothing to eat except for the pantry next door or the trailer on the property..that gets every order literally wrong. It’s also not safe. They have an active bar area that brings in all the assh*les. The day we arrived there was a drunk woman puking in the drive way, I am also a person of color and experienced harassment from some drunk patrons That being said the barista was rly nice and hospitable, but also aware of how rough it can get. We won’t be coming back.

We loved our spacious 2 bed room in this wonderful vintage motel. So many great art deco / southwest details in the buildings are enhanced by terrific remodeling and upgrades. The location is perfect for Santa Fe, not in town with the tight streets, but further out on the old road. We found it super close to Meow Wolf too, a nice surprise.

Loved the look and the feel of the proporty, Staff was supper freindly, drinks in the bar were great. The El Rey is a place that makes you feel welcome and we definitrly want to stay again.

Loved the aesthetics’s of the property. It feels authentic to Santa Fe. From the fireplace to the winding staircase leading to the room, we absolutely loved it.

We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed next to the spa and hot tub and it was great. We had a great court yard. It was nice there was a bar on premises. Who knew it was the hippest place to be!

Having stayed here previously and having enjoyed our stay, had looked forward to our return. Sadly this trip did not measure up in some ways: - Slight scare at check in but manager was able to clear up and even offer drink chips! - Rooms need updating but are still comfortable and clean - Disappointed with events causing limited parking especially without advanced notice! Saturdays event was a bit raucous and caused several attendees to roam the hallways, not sure as a group of women if we felt safe or just more guarded - Staff was pleasant and location, history and charm seem to bring about our still finding El Rdy one of our fav places in SF!

Charming old motel. It has a lot of character. The property and the bar are wonderful. My room was a little rough—dim, old thermostat that wasn’t removed, half finished bathroom door. It was clean and perfect for my needs. Some road noise, but not bad.

We have been coming here for years as we visit relatives. I love the room decor and the history. The street is very busy and walking anywhere can be exciting, but the El Rey is clean and the staff are always helpful and professional. The only part I don't like is the rise in rates. The bar with live music is nice. We will continue to stay here on our yearly trip.

Unique southwestern ambience, relaxing atmosphere. Felt safe walking around courtyard all times day or night. Comfortable rooms with attached small room we used as office as my wife worked remotely during our stay.

I loved the style of the place and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. I thought the place was a hidden gem and coming from a coffee fanatic, they had the best I’ve ever had at a hotel both in room and in lobby. I wished I could have come by the lobby bar because it looked so cool but we were only there for 1 night. Also very comfy beds. Also affordable! I can’t wait to come back.

Always has been a funky kinda place and still holds true! If you want stay in a place that gives you the feel of the "good old"days in SantaFe, The El Rey is just that. Cute little bar to sit and chillax sipping on some smooth tequila or a glass of wine before you head out to explore Santa Fe and all its gems or cozy in your room with the fireplace and a book. The El Rey is a great place to Stay!

My husband and I stayed here as a pit stop on a long roadtrip. El Ray Court was an excellent choice. The king sized bed was so comfortable. We were able to walk and get dinner and enjoy an amazing margarita from the bar.
