Rooms and hallways smelled overwhelmingly like cigarette smoke and the air purifier in the room smelled heavily of mildew, making the room smell even worse after turning it on. The strength of both smells was enough to give our group headaches. The headrests of the beds were made of velvet, so you could clearly see the handprints and dragged-down finger lines left by the previous occupants of the room.
