"They had a fire in the detached restaurant/reception venue so that area was looking a little creepy. It is separate from the hotel, so no safety concerns, but they should maintain the gardens and clean its large outside seating area. Overgrown and creepy.
There are big renovations going on in the hotel, so there were workmen and equipment here and there. The hotel is aging, but they are trying to upgrade.
The lobby and breakfast area are new since we visited in the summer of 2025. The halls and room have been redone. New furniture, carpet, walls. It looks nice. The pool area needs renovation, as does the outside enclosed garden. I suppose they are working on fixing the place up, and the fire may have delayed things. They really should have someone go around the hotel and pull the weeds that are growing in the flowerbeds. That is an easy job, would take no time at all, and help to improve the outside appearance of the hotel.
The reservation got mixed up, and the lady at the desk worked hard to get it right. We had 8 people (lots of little ones) and we needed the room with 2 queens, pull out sofa and bunk beds. Looks like there is only one of those rooms. Thanks to the woman at the desk that helped us get into the room that I had officially reserved.
What I return? Absolutely. It is a great place for families with younger kids. The people are very nice and we will return."
