Great location in the very center and about one block from the Admiralty metro station. The rooms are clean, mine had a comparatively large shower room. There is good, basic breakfast and it is possible to have coffee in the eveningtime. Everything worked well, including the internet. Staff (often a very helpful older lady) were helpful.
A note about paying. One cannot pay at this place by credit card, and this may surprise many, although this situation is not so uncommon in Russia. One may want to pay in advance - had I noticed that I can't pay with credit card, I would paid in advance rather than have lots of cash with me, particularly as there may be problems in raising cash from Russian ATMs (some don't seem to always work, puzzling Western card-provider banks).
If there happen to be noisy other customers, they may disturb one's sleep somewhat. The staff were not there in this small six-room hotel in the evening, which did not bother me. It was also easily arranged that I could store my bag there for hours on the day of my leaving, despite that no-one was there when I came for it.
