We had a great stay at Pirates Pension at Bluebeards Castle! The resort sits on a hill with beautiful views of the turquoise water and nearby islands—you can enjoy it from the suites, the pool/bar, and even the gym with its oversized windows.
Our suite had tropical tile floors, a cozy balcony, and a small kitchenette with a cooktop, mini fridge/freezer, microwave, and sink. It was spacious for two and comfortable, though it could use a few minor repairs. We also saw a 1-bedroom king suite with a full kitchen, wraparound balcony, and dual bathroom access—great layout.
The pool and jacuzzi hours (8am–12am) were perfect for relaxing, and the bar served a good breakfast—get there early if you have excursions. The staff was helpful and friendly, especially Shawn & the at the front desk team who gave great tips for dining, nightlife, and getting to St. John.
We arrived before check-in but were able to complete the process early and enjoy lunch at the pool bar while we waited. They offer bell service and pool towels are already in your suite, which was convenient.
We rented a Jeep, which we recommend—the hill is steep and not walkable. Stores, the cruise port, and fast food are a quick 5-minute drive away. Red Hook was about 20 minutes and had more local food, excursions, and ferry access.
Would definitely stay here again!
