Korea’s largest theme park, a sledding area and a reconstructed old Korean riverside village are among this resort area’s biggest attractions.

With its amusement parks, traditional museums and magical atmosphere, Yongin is a haven for every type of visitor.

Along the scenic Tancheon Stream in the southern suburbs of Seoul, this exceptional district has numerous fun events and festivals. Split your time between the enormous theme parks and nature trails of this eclectic land of entertainment.

Surprise your kids with a trip to Everland, Korea’s largest amusement park. It is divided into many exciting sections, from the American Adventure and Magic Land to the European Adventure and the Global Fair. Climb aboard thrilling rides including the VR Adventure, the Magic Cookie House and the Double Rock Spin. Visit animals in Safari World and Panda World. On a sunny day, ride the water slides of nearby Caribbean Bay.

For a gentler pace, wander through the Korean Folk Village and view its replicas and relocated houses from bygone eras and different parts of Korea. Its museum has intriguing exhibits on old-world tools, while the village sits on a gorgeous waterfront setting.

Continue learning about the country’s history and traditions in the Korean Deung-Jan Museum, which recreates a typical fortress and showcases elegant lamps.

Stroll along the pedestrianized Bojeong-dong Café Street that is often a Korean filming location. Relax at one of the many bohemian and exotic cafés adorning the sides of the street.

Besides the entertainment aspect of Yongin, the area is also known for its stunning scenery. Hike along trails meandering through the Yongin Recreational Forest. In winter, sled down the snowy hills of the Everland’s Snow Buster Park.

From Seoul, ride a direct bus south for about 40 minutes to the Yong Common Bus Terminal. From the bus stop, take a taxi north for a few minutes to reach the heart of the resort area. You can also get around the city via the metro system that runs straight across it.

Magical, fun and informative, Yongin’s many resorts and parks provide thrilling rides and give lessons about old Korea.
