"Overall we were happy with our stay. The room was clean, well decorated and a good size. The view of the "bay" from the room and balconey was impressive. The grounds could use some straightening up I was surpired by the number of semi tropical plants it contained. The owners were friendly, responsive and spoke some English. Only drawback, the facility was advertised (and priced) as being "on the beach" however beware, its no where near a beach. "

"The staff has great communication and is very accommodating. I told them I was checking in late and they sent me the information needed to access my room and other directions. Housekeeping was good and left everything that I needed since we woke up after cleaning hours. Blanket was very comfortable and room was in good order. "I recently stayed at Hyacinth Pension for a two-night trip to Tongyeong. While the view from the bay-facing rooms is lovely and there’s a charming coffee shop and gift store just down the hill, the condition of the property fell well below what was advertised.
We rented a “Deluxe Duplex,” and sadly saw visible water damage, the bathroom was damp with long term mold and a rotting door. The steep internal staircase had no handrail, and the sleeping mezzanine had no accessible light switch—an issue at night.
Guests should also be aware that there’s no lift, so luggage must be carried up the stairs if you’re staying on a higher floor.
The host seemed kind and well-meaning, but the property needs attention and a more accurate listing to reflect its current state. This may suit some travelers looking for basic accommodation, but I’d advise reviewing recent photos before booking—especially if safety, hygiene, and accessibility are priorities."
