Elegant hotel, nice location, mediocre service
It was an elegant, beautiful, old hotel. Nice location, beautiful parks surrounding the hotel. Nice fitness center. The service was somewhat mediocre (and some staff not very friendly) compared to the elegance of the hotel. We reserved the room for 3 people, but when we went to the room, sofa bed wasn't ready. We had to call for the service. Some rooms need upgrade in their furniture. The sofa in our room was very very old and almost dirty.

전반적으로 만족스러웠지만....
호텔은 중앙역에 매우 인접해있고 주요관광지를 도보로 1~20분안에 이동할 수 있는 위치였습니다~그리고 호텔 내부 또한 아주 고풍스럽고 아름다웠어요~다만 저희가 묵은날 1bon 고위직 관계자가 묵었었는지 1bon인들이 굉장히 많았고 호텔 정문 입구에 전체를 다 가릴만한 1장기를 걸어두어 입구를 드나들때마다 많이 거슬렸네요.(실제로 공항에서 go노 1본 외무장관을 보기도 했습니다) 이 호텔에 묵는 사람이 그 ㄴrㄹr 사람밖에 없는건지...ㅡㅡ;;;

호텔 최고입니다. 고풍스럽고 객실도 무척 넓었습니다. 록시땅제품사용. 호텔안에 훌륭한 레스토랑들이 있고 가격대도 전혀 비싸지가 않습니다. 반옐라치치광장과 도보로 10분이어서 더 좋습니다. 조용하고 또 가보고 싶은 호텔입니다. 추천함~^^

허니문이라 스위트룸으로 업그레이드 해줬다. 위치도 좋고 방은 넓었으나 tv 리모컨, 에어컨에 먼지가 많았고 침대 옆에서 바퀴벌레를 발견했다.. 나름 5성급 호텔인데 오래된 호텔이라 그런지 청결도가 아쉬웠다

A very disappointing stay. The property should not be given 5 stars. The room we were staying in was very small (not reflecting the pictures), it was extremely dated and had no basic amenities like complementary water or tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel needs a thorough renovation.

Very nice property and helpful staff. Accommodations were awesome and very convenient to the train station. A few trolleys stop in the area as well. Very walkable to the old town/downtown area. I would stay there again.

Loved this hotel and a real experience of a world class hotel. Enjoyed the VIP complimentary local wine in our room and the service was warm, professional and friendly. The property has been updated brilliantly and the room are very comfortable. We loved the dining options and the proximity to all Zagreb tourist sites.

Loved this hotel and has had a sensitive refurbishment in 2015 retaining the old world charm. Very close to the main train station and the old town so walkable. Service good with friendly staff, loved the interesting history of the hotel. Breakfast and dining options very good and we enjoyed both.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Zagreb. It’s a beautiful hotel, convenient location- just 2-3 minutes walk from the railway and tram station. The reception staff was quite friendly and helpful. Though we arrived in the morning but they managed to get the room arranged for us in an hour. All the sight seeing places were walkable. Just the shower cabin could have been slightly more spacious. Otherwise we totally enjoyed our stay:)

Overall good location, hotel is nice. It would be nice to see a complimentary bottle of water provided in the room for the 1st night at the very least. No physical price list for the mini bar in the room, the tv menu did not work, and the phone app you can download would not work with the new operating system on my Samsung. Minor inconveniences all in all.

We made an expensive mistake staying here and hope you'll avoid doing the same. Yes, we read the great reviews, but we're very seasoned travelers and want to tell you the truth about this place. A few major deal-breaker issues with the hotel: 1. You are literally next to a train station with trains coming in at all random hours of the day and night. Good luck having a good night's sleep. 2. Indifferent staff: our check in was horrible - the woman taking our passport seemed totally uninterested in her job. I made a joke about the open champagne bottle behind her and she said she almost forgot to offer a glass to my wife and me, which is standard. Keep in mind we checked in on a Sunday and it was not busy at all. 3. Inexcusably, for a hotel that claims it is the best in a European capital city, they cannot or will not break large Euro bills into small ones (so you can, ironically, tip their staff, pay for taxi rides, etc.). Imagine staying at the Waldorf in NYC, and they said they couldn't break a $100 bill for you into $10 and $20s? Would. Never. Happen. Incredible. 4. You are NOT close to any of Zagreb's amazing cafes, restaurants, etc. Unless you like staring at a water fountain, there are better and cheaper hotels nearer the city's many wonderful plazas. All in all, this is WAY overpriced for what you get, the rooms are small and outdated, and you are far from where all the action is - the trendy cafes, restaurants, etc. Please save your money and stay elsewhere.

Our recent stay at Esplanade Zagreb can be summarized as rather average, falling short of the expectations typically associated with a five-star hotel. The property exudes an air of age, with a noticeable lack of attention to detail evident in various aspects of our experience. One notable issue was the oversight in replenishing basic amenities in our room following housekeeping visits. The absence of a coffee cup and water glass meant we were unable to enjoy a cup of coffee at our convenience. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connectivity was disappointingly slow, and the television was non-functional, failing to connect to our devices. Furthermore, the television itself was notably undersized. The provision of toiletries also left much to be desired, with miniature versions of L'Occitane cream and shampoo/conditioner being provided. Despite our attempts to address these concerns via email, we regrettably received no response, a lapse in communication uncharacteristic of a luxury establishment. Upon our arrival, we found the absence of a doorman or staff member to greet us and escort us to the reception area to be a noticeable oversight. Furthermore, there was no assistance offered with the transportation of our luggage to our room. In the dining facilities, while the quality of the food was commendable, the cocktails served were notably lacking in quality. Efforts to escalate our concerns to the management were met with disappointment!
