"We were greeted with great warmth by the owner and shown around the very lovely hotel. The design and furnishings are quirky and very impressive. We didn'[t use the garden, pool and spa but they looked very inviting and I wished we'd booked another night! The bed was comfortable and the pillows lovely and full and soft. "When we arrived at the hotel it had closed down four weeks previously. A notice on the door informed us to which hotel we had been transferred. This was difficult to access as the hotel next to The Chevalier( our new destination) was still under construction. There was no drop off point for luggage and my husband had to carry all bags from a car park about 7 minutes walk away. We were greeted by black billowing smoke. I have asthma and so even entering the hotel was worrying. The staff informed...
