“We had to move rooms as there was a stench coming from the bathroom plumbing. Entering the property late or ealry meant using the back entrance. We had to step over old tables and other junk to get to the back entrance. The Friday night was ok and we ate well. Just went downhill from there. Staff seemed nice enough but fighting a losing battle I fear. Place needs an overhaul.”

“Delicious menu on offer, to supplement the great buffet. Enjoyed the decor/ambience of the breakfast room. Perfect location and the host gave spot-on nature, history and shopping suggestions. Loved our Pheasant Suite too. ”

“Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The Breakfast buffet was excellent,.. the selection was the best I have seen. The Bar staff was so friendly and service was excellent. This hotel is centrally located and ideal to travel to the many sites near by. The staff could of been more helpful when we experienced issues with our traveling companions' room entry card that needed to be re-coded several times over our 5 day stay.”

“Car parking is charged at £5 a day even though in the rooms weekend parking is free. Reception stated it was out of date. Didn’t bother finding what else was out of date! Otherwise seemed ok”

“We arrived at Thainstone Hotel on Saturday late afternoon . We asked to book our meal for supper as we were going to a show just across from hotel , as the show starts at 7.30 , we needed to book a meal a bit earlier , the receptionist said we can’t serve meals till 7.30 as there is a wedding in process. She said she will ask the chef but he said no . Even a sandwich would b better than nothing , but no . She said she couldn’t even offer a bag of crisps as they hadn’t any of them either..So we...
